Today is INAUGURATION DAY! At the strike of noon, in exactly 12 hours, Middletown native J.D. Vance will become the 50th Vice President of the United States. 🇺🇸

Fun Fact: No matter where the Inauguration ceremony is when the clock strikes noon, the 20th Amendment states that the terms of the incoming president and vice president begin, whether they have taken the Oath of Office or not. Typically, however, the oaths are taken shortly before or right at noon.

❤️ It's going to be a good year

The City of Middletown Events announces its 2025 Events Calendar, featuring several events returning and expanding in the new year! 🎉

The first city-sponsored event happens in February with Dessert Week returning for its second year. During the Week of Feb. 10 through Feb. 16, restaurants will be featuring a new dessert item for patrons to try, boosting business across Middletown during a typical slow period in the winter months. Other food weeks returning include Burger Week from July 7 through July 13 and Bowl Week from Nov. 17 through Nov. 23.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Bar Crawl is also coming back on March 15, kicking off a year full of parades through Downtown Middletown. Other parades include Memorial Day (with the annual ceremony at Woodside Cemetery following), 4th of July, and the Santa Parade in November (kicking off Very Merry Middletown).

Movies in the Parks will feature several blockbuster hits throughout the summer in Middletown’s beautiful parks. Cinderella kicks off the monthly series on May 9th in Sunset Park, followed by Inside Out 2 on June 13th in Sherman Park, Despicable Me 4 in Jacot Park on July 11th, and Moana 2 on August 8th in Douglass Park. The final Movies in the Park will correspond with a new two-day celebration in Downtown Middletown with Octoberfest on October 24th. On that night, The Nightmare Before Christmas will be shown in Downtown as part of the Octoberfest festivities.

The following day, on Oct. 25th, the Annual Family Fun Fall Festival returns for its fourth year, but in a new location! Fall Fest will be held in Downtown Middletown as part of the weekend’s fall festivities. Vendors, food competitions, food trucks, and of course, fun, all return for one of the premier events for the City.

Food Truck Fridays also return with different themes and/or entertainment each month. In 2025, the City of Middletown will welcome members of the Cincinnati Symphony and mascots from the Cincinnati Reds! Other themes include Game Night, Taste Around the Globe, and a BBQ Throwdown.

An email went out to everyone that has ordered a banner in the past. If you didn't get an email then there is a chance that your email has bounced back for some reason. Please email me [email protected].

This Wednesday we open orders for the new banners. I will provide a link on Wednesday to anyone and everyone that would like to order one. The ordering will be open until March 1st. As you can see, we simplified them in order to make the lettering bigger. We want to be able to have bigger writing on the banners so that anyone driving by can see them. There will be two options this year. We will be sharing a link that explains both on Wednesday. In the meantime, if you have a banner of the old design and haven't picked it up yet, please email me to work that out. Thank you!
