ECISD FAMILIES!

Several members of our leadership team joined a call with the National Weather Service this morning at 9:30. Based on their most up-to-date information and predictions about weather and road conditions, we are making the following decisions:
• We will follow our regular schedule for the rest of today and dismiss at regular times; buses will also run their normally scheduled routes.
• All schools that have an extended hour will cancel the extended hour and dismiss ALL students at the same time.
• ALL after-school activities at ALL schools are cancelled.
• ECISD will close all schools and all offices on Thursday, February 3. Again, ECISD will be closed tomorrow.
• District leaders will evaluate conditions and get current forecast information from the NWS on Thursday before making any decisions about school on Friday.

A reminder for Ector Middle School parents; Ector College Prep operates independently and may have a different plan. If your child attends Ector College Prep please wait for a message directly from the school.

PARADE OF LIGHTS: TOMORROW, DEC. 4TH AT 6:30 PM.

OPD Safety Information:

*Streets will be blocked off at 5:15 pm: Andrews highway between 2nd and university.

*A command post set up at 17th and grant. Parents with lost kids or anyone wanting to report suspicious activity should go to that location.

*We're expecting a record number of parade entries. In the interest of public safety and time, Parade participants will not be allowed to do any of the following: hand out or throw things from floats such as candy. etc... and The use of hydraulics on vehicles will be banned while on the parade route. Participants will be unable to stop in the roadway during the parade to perform any acts such as dancing, cheering, etc...

*If you are in violation of any of these requirements, you may be asked to exit the parade.

Extra tip: participants will be required to drive in a single lane and not swerve between lanes
