Harold Fla. ( AP) A crowd gathered at Blackwater River early this morning, awaiting the emergence of the groundhog named Allentown Annie. After a tap of a scrub oak branch on Annie's tree-limb, the animal emerged to cheers and applause. Annie did not respond, other than to sniff the air. Placed on top of a Chevy tailgate she attempted to flee before her actions were closely analyzed.
Interpreting Annie's behavior, members of the Bagdad Yacht and Racket Club proclaimed, "There is no shadow to be cast! An early spring is my forecast!" then Annie up and R-U-N-N-O-F-T.
