Kristin and Craig made the most of their 5 days in town this week! Cake tasting at Simma's Bakery, floral consult with Flora Elements(with a guest visit from Lincoln the bunny!), followed by more food and picking out all the pretties at Saz's Hospitality Group, an engagement shoot with Lottie Lillian Photography, and they still made time to see family and friends! They’re headed back to Colorado, but we cannot wait for their wedding this summer The George and Madcap Lounge !

Five years ago today one of my brides (and fabulous friends) got the news that her venue was completely flooded and we had two days to plan an entire wedding. It ended up being better than we could have ever expected, thanks to many friends and amazing vendors who helped pull things together! Every year this serves a reminder of a few things…that the months of stressful planning can be wiped out in the blink of an eye, that you can be just as happy with limited options and minutes to make decisions, and that no matter what goes wrong on your wedding day, it is no reflection of the marriage that comes from it. Five years ans two adorable kids later…happy anniversary Christy and Kyle!

Announcement for all future brides ♥️

It’s Official!! The changes to Wisconsin’s marriage license laws went into effect on July 1, 2022.

1. Marriage licenses can now be applied for in any county within Wisconsin, regardless of your residency. (previously you had to apply in the county of residence if a Wisconsin resident, or in the county you were getting married in if you were an out of state resident)

2. Marriage licenses are now valid up to 60 days prior to your ceremony (this changed from 30 days prior).

3. The waiting period has been reduced to 3 days, meaning that you must apply at a minimum of 3 days prior to your ceremony. (The prior waiting period was 5 days)

4. Wedding officiants or couples can now submit marriage certificates (following the ceremony) to any Register of Deeds office in Wisconsin (This previously had to be done in the county that the marriage license took place).

: Ask the post office to hand-cancel your invitations! This is when each stamp on your envelope is marked (or "canceled") using a hand stamp instead of machine. Hand-canceling invitations prevents them from being damaged or torn by the post office's machine.

After almost a year long hiatus, yesterday kicked off the first of my many 2021 weddings! Molly and Ajay had to postpone several times but it was so worth the wait! I loved how they incorporated Greek traditions throughout their ceremony and reception. So glad to be back in wedding mode and back at my favorite, South Second! Thanks Molly & Ajay for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day!
