Ok so here’s the deal

I need to make a small chunk of change in the next day or so. I don’t have a ton of options for quick money. So I have an idea that you may enjoy even if you can’t help monetarily

Tonight (Saturday 8/24) & tomorrow night (Sunday 8/25) I’ll be streaming DJ sets on my twitch channel (I’ll post the link below)

I’ll be playing some of my originals and unreleased stuff. Obscure tracks and genres I love, classics, cuts, you know.

I figure I’ve done fundraisers and benefits for others in the past, maybe I can try to do it for myself 🤷🏻‍♀️
Plus this way I get to do something I love, and something others can enjoy for free if they desire. I’ll have my PayPal link on screen for anyone who is gracious enough though 🙏

Gonna invite a few friends and maybe make it a little impromptu housewarming party…? We’ll see

Plus, you’ll get to stare at this background all night… from a better angle tho 😂

Gonna be kicking off around 8pm central on my twitch, and keep going til I either hit my goal or pass out

The next thing at the top of my to do list:

I need to find a local venue (Minneapolis) to host a monthly show. A place I can play all my new material, experiment, bring in guests, etc.
A home base where folks can come see me play live regularly

I have a few ideas, and I’m putting together a proposal for what I have in mind. If you’re in the music and/or event industry and have any ideas or want to help, please dm me

I'm not sure if it was announced anywhere officially, so I'll just tell you now...

I will have the honor of DJing on the KARE 11 float in the Twin Cities Pride parade tomorrow 😍🥰
It's a pool party themed float and i guess i'm gonna be the lifeguard! They're giving me a whistle and everything, which kinda makes me wanna play nothing but 90s UK Rave stuff. Don't worry though it'll be fun and eclectic as always 😊

So, months and months ago Joe Avey Sadowski hmu with a beat for a potential collab. I gave it some wub wub. I knew I wanted to add cuts, then summer got stupid busy, and by the time I figured out the concept for the cuts and video, I was like “this is a Halloween track, and next week is Halloween”

Well, here I go…

I need to tell you all something. A lot of you already know. If you don’t, this might be a surprise.

I am trans. (She/her)

It’s something I’ve known about myself and actively hidden from everyone in my life since at least the age of 8. Up until 1 year ago (remember when I finally shaved the beard?) I fully intended to take the secret to my grave. I tried so hard to not be this way. I tried every possible way to rationalize or explain it away. But it never worked. I hid it from people who I knew would be supportive because I didn’t want to be encouraged. Ultimately though, it’s part of me, it has influenced every decision I’ve ever made because I was so preoccupied with not being found out, not acting too feminine. It was the silent killer of every relationship. I never allowed myself to be too ambitious. I went through life feeling like an NPC, or a spectator, not actually engaged with my own life. Literally the only times I ever felt happy, or even fully alive were when I’d be DJing.

So here I am. Completely out of energy to hide it anymore. I started HRT in March of this year. It’s been going better than I ever imagined. I’ve lost 50 pounds in the last year and a half. My blood pressure is the best it’s ever been. Everyone in my life tells me they’ve seen a major shift in my mood. I feel lighter both literally and figuratively. I feel happy.

I know some of you will have a problem with this, and if this is where our friendship or familial relationship ends, so be it. I don’t want to sound harsh, but I really don’t care to listen to anyone else’s complaints or concerns about this. It’s my life, and I’m not harming anyone. I am well informed on everything I’m doing. My immediate family and close friends are all incredibly supportive. I have a great doctor, a great therapist. I am good.

In terms of music, I see this as onward and upward. I’m considering a re-brand, at least partially. Depending on how this announcement goes, I may or may not delete this account and start fresh. We’ll see. I may also turn my phone off for the rest of the night after posting this, in case you’re wondering why I’m not responding immediately. Thank you to everyone who’s been there for me so far.

With all that, I guess there’s nothing else left to say. Except…
