A few finishing touches and Nora’s Halloween costume is ready. Cost more than a Halloween costume should but as this is all made into separate pieces, she can mix and match for other events, and she already has a request for next year‘s Halloween costume too add a different corset to be one of the hocus-pocus witches.  plus she’s so small nothing would of fit correctly if I would’ve just bought it, but it was fun to make and my mannequin is definitely feeling the squeeze to get it as little as she is.

This bride had a good idea to add something that would raise the length of dress after she takes off her heels. So with two different sizes of ribbon and a couple snaps, I was able to figure it out and it worked pretty good on this type of dress. 

Chelsea was sweet enough she sent me some before and after pictures and I also always love getting the wedding pictures....

There is a lot of work done to this dress that isn’t visible to the untrained eye when we started taking the dress in to get it to fit her through the waist and the hips. The boning was too soft and just was flexible and didn’t want to support her so all the boning was reinforced with another layer. Once we got that done we realized that the cups were not supporting her. They were not large enough to hold her. I ended up having to remake the cup to grab and support her.🤩

Emma bought an off the rack dress that was about 6 inches too big for her in some areas. It is a lot to take in a dress this much. But it all worked out and fit her perfectly by the time alterations were done. Thanks again for being such a wonderful wonderful person to work with and congratulations on your wedding.

This is how a seamstress gets paid to do diamond art. It can be painful on the fingers, but rewarding once the project is all done, and it looks like you did nothing to alter the dress.
