For some silly reason, FB removed my posts thanking our sponsors for Monterey Swing Fest so we might have to do the 'thank yous' as individual posts

Thank you to Richard Mora and Laura E. Hunter for sponsoring the Legends Invitational show on Saturday night! Without these two incredible dancers, we would not have been able to put on such a fantastic show! We wanted to provide an opportunity for dancers to allow their artistry to shine and we feel we were able to do just that.

Rich also helped sponsor the Master's Cocktail Party on Friday night (that I definitely showed up to) and it was a huge hit! Thank you Rich for all of our generosity to help us make Monterey such a special weekend.

Hey everyone coming to Monterey Swingfest 2023

We just had a meeting with the hotel staff at the Hyatt Regency. We obviously discussed the weather and the flood warnings.

Current weather conditions in Monterey are sunny and warm. However, there is a storm that is set to last over the next few days. Signs are pointing that that storm will be letting up by Sunday allowing people to be able to be able to fly and or drive out.

We are advising that people make their most informed decisions based on https://www.co.monterey.ca.us/government/departments-a-h/administrative-office/office-of-emergency-services/situational-awareness/public-alert-warning

We know that the storm has made national news but we encourage attendees to look at the Monterey Emergency Services directly.

Although it is unlikely and hasn't happened since 1995, the hotel is fully stocked and prepared to help any and all guests in the event that people are unable to leave Monterey.

We are continuing with the event and are working with an absolutely incredible team of hotel staff members that are here to assist if we need it.

Monterey Swing Fest has not been cancelled AND we expect to have an Otterly amazing weekend!!

Have you seen some of the amazing shows or activities that we have at Monterey Swingfest 2023??

Some new things we're adding to 2023:

-Puppy Play Date sponsored by All Star Swing Jam! Not only is the Hyatt a dog friendly hotel, but many dancers love to bring their sweet pups to Monterey! We've noticed and have added a Saturday morning trip to a beautiful dog park about 10 min from the hotel!

-Legends Invitational Show! Saturday night we're hosting a jack and jill with incredible dancers. We're fortunate to have on staff some of the most profound legends in our dance and they'll be putting on a show for you at Monterey Swingfest!

-GREATEST PRIVATE LESSON EVER: We'll be offering the opportunity for quite literally the greatest private lesson ever. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event and Saturday night we'll be announcing the winners who win the chance to get mini private lessons with legends in our dance on Sunday morning!

-Champions Roast of Benji Schwimmer! Sunday night before Meech N Friends, we're hosting the Roast of Benji Schwimmer! Trust me, you do NOT want to miss out on this! More details to come but I would make sure you're planning on staying Sunday night!

Some things we're bringing back:

-Wine tasting tour with me Friday to kick off the event!

-Nature Hike in beautiful Monterey! We've opted to move the time and day of the hike so that people don't have to choose between nature and wine!

-Free basics classes and the WCS 101 Jack and Jill! We welcome all dancers no matter the level and encourage everyone to BYOB (Bring Your Own Beginner) to Monterey Swingfest!

Tentative event and activities schedule is posted on the website www.montereyswing.com and while you're there, might as well register for your event pass and contests today while the Early Bird rate is still available!
