Done is better than perfect, they say. I’m LATE on half my dahlias, but they are in. And that’s good enough. They are not labeled and in no order, so the chaotic colorful mismatched explosion that is to come will directly mimic the current state of this farmer. With a pregnancy with some complications during high season, two toddlers, and another a full time job, we’ll take what we can get this year. It’s all about acceptance. (Although it’s really hard to accept the mass of weeds to the direct left of this photo. They will get tended to this week)

For Cyril 💜

Today was a very special wedding! I love getting to design for friends, especially when they swoon over their bouquet! Cyril came into my life via her now husband, Alex. We shared an office, and became fast friends. We have experienced so many ups and downs in this life together, and I’m so grateful for our friendship. I am even more grateful that he now has Cyril to share his and Maxwell’s life.

It was the perfect spring day, with perfect spring flowers. The first peonies, need I say more?

Had a helper today who always shows a lot of moral support for the farm, but typically is being super Dad so I can work. But today, he helped me, tremendously. We got beds measured out and staked, started topping off a few rows with compost, laid the netting, and staked the sweet peas. I love to show him my dream and how much it’s grown in just a few years.
