7 years ago today , while driving into work , I got a text from a fellow wedding officiant friend of mine . She said ‘Tricia - don’t you have that commitment ceremony tonight ?’ ‘Yes ‘ I replied. She then said ‘have you not seen the news this morning ?’ ‘No’ - my reply .
I quickly parked , did an even quicker google search , and went : ‘omg !!!!- I am about to officiate (unexpectedly), one of the first legal same s*x Michigan weddings and it wasn’t even planned that way ‘!
Not a dry eye in the house that night , and truly - one of the most unforgettable days of my ( and I am sure - their )- life /lives.

Happy 7th Jen and Emily !!!! Somehow , after these troubling recent events , this one means even more .

I receive a text message from a fellow officiant friend of mine :
Her : ‘do you have your TV on?’
Me : ‘no. I just pulled into my office ‘.
Her : ‘that couple with the commitment ceremony you have tonight ? Tricia !!!! You might want to tell them to get their butts to the county clerks office NOW!!!’
Me: ‘omg omg omg omg ...’

Jen and Emily : the two of you will always have the most amazingly special place in my heart ... I literally cry every year I get this reminder . Happy 5th anniversary ! And happy 5th anniversary to making love is love legal . The world needs this more than ever :

Congrats to Riane and Christian : just met this lovely couple for a basic license signing 🙂

It feels like forever …. But I’m getting back to it ! First big wedding this Saturday ( 6/19/21) since
February of 2020…

I have openings throughout this year and next , with the exception of November , 2021- if you or anyone you know is in need of an officiant .

Feels great to getting back to some semblance of normal again !
