As a part of the Raggamuffin® family, Ragga’Wedding is purposed in loving others and living life to the fullest. In the early years of Raggamuffin, we began selling handcrafted accessories to friends and family out of our garage studio, which quickly evolved into us traveling around the southeast region selling our products at art festivals and local boutiques. It was during this season that we me
t and began working with our artisans in Kenya and China. These friendships began with “hello” but quickly became so much more, as we heard each of these girls’ stories and heart for stirring up change in their countries through hope. These moments reminded us how powerful it is to do life with people. We learned that as we pursue doing the things that we love, we come alive; and when we come alive, others can find life. One thing led to another, and we found ourselves fulfilling custom orders through word of mouth and our online shop. It’s no surprise that when it came time for some of our dear friends’ weddings that we began designing pieces that would complement their style and become something that they could treasure for many years to come. It was an honor to have the heart of Raggamuffin® represented on such a special day in the lives of the people we loved most. When our founder Joy began planning her own wedding day, she knew right away that she wanted to make it a DIY occasion, complete with a real flower alternative due to her allergies. Along with her closest friends, she handcrafted everything from her own fabric bouquets and bridal party accessories to the table decorations and garland that was so intricately incorporated into the backdrop of her ceremony. Our studio quickly developed into a beautiful collaboration of friends, fabric flowers, and all of the essential wedding necessities that truly made it the BEST DAY EVER. Ragga’Wedding continues to grow into far more than we could have ever imagined as we now also partner with artisans in Haiti and continue to fill custom orders with brides all over the world.
