I love when the sky is naturally perfect and my clients dress to impress! I originally did a lighter/brighter edit on this session then went back and did a more moody look and I think I love it! What a fun engagement session!

If I were to name this album, if I were to choose 1 word to describe this woman… it would be STRENGTH!
We did this session as a light at the end of the tunnel type session. As a getting back up on her feet, to say I’m still standing her and that her Faith is still stronger than ever even after all she has been through. She’s gone through so much loss this past decade, year after year more loss after loss and struggle after struggle. She’s suffered the loss of both her parents, defeated cancer, lost her brother, her son in a tragic accident, almost her other son in another tragic accident and most recently her husband. All one after another in such a short time frame. She could have crumbled, she could have lost her faith in the lord, she could have chose anger. She didn’t. She forgave the one who killed her son & even embraced him knowing it was something that weighed on him too. She did what Jesus would have done. She continues to be kind and loving to everyone around her. She smiles, she cries, then smiles again and thanks God for her blessings. She’s learned things over the years that would rip some people apart. She takes it and uses it to strengthen herself and her faith. She is STRENGTH! She is Susie!
She is an inspiration!

Meet your photographer, Me, Karissa.
I forget many times that I’ve got a lot of followers on my page now that don’t actually know me. So I had my husband take this quick shot of me this morning at a beautiful sunrise senior session I was doing and decided I’d use it to introduce myself to my fb audience/followers.
My name is Karissa, I have been a photographer professionally for about 12 years now, but my love of photography started about 6 years before that. I am an Idaho native, born & raised. I am a mother of 3 boys & a surrogate mother to a little boy in Israel. I am married to my best friend, he is the main provider for our family with all of his many different jobs (he’s good at everything, kinda and entrepreneur) and my photography work is how I contribute financially to our family. We have a beautiful little five acre mini farm with lots of rescue animals. We love the outdoors, adventure, travel and love to laugh and love.
While photography was my first passion, I also have a passion for animals which is why we have the rescue farm and what I take pride most in is being a wife and mother. When I’m not shooting you can find me mommin, wifing, and mini farming.
When you book your session with me you aren’t just booking photos, you are booking THE experience! Ask any of my clients, my sessions are ALWAYS a good time. I work hard to find the best locations. I do my best connect with my clients to get a good feel for their personalities and work hard to bring that into the session and have it shine uniquely in the finished images. I’m always happy to help style the session by helping you pick outfits and I strive to make sure you get images back that WOW you!

Now, Im going to brag a little bit right here, I’ve had three of my clients photos end up in magazines, I’ve had one of my sessions win a client a contest that won her a tip across the world and I have one of my photos from one of the times I shot at the Idaho Peace Officer Memorial on a statue in Heros Park in Boise! I’m very proud of all those.

I also would like to mention that I am a huge supporter of military, first responders and law enforcement. My grandmother served law enforcement for over 30 years and my husband serves in the military. I always offer military discount & I do free photos at all of the military, first responder and law enforcement funerals/memorials. It’s one way I can say thank you to all of you who serve and show my support to you and your families.

I absolutely love what I do and love people! Well, most people. Making my clients smile not only during their session but after when they see the finished product is my goal! I want you to be so glad you booked with me and confident in booking with me again.
Side note, I usually look like a bum, socks and sandals, no makeup, hair in a bun kinda look. Please do not let it frighten you, my sloppy rushed look does not affect my work, your images will be top quality and you will be very happy. I’m just usually shooting super early and was up late with kiddos or we are shooting close to sunset and I’ve been chasing little humans around all day long.

Another session from my "slow season" valentines promotion I recently posted about offering the first 3 people to book a half off couples styled session! January through the beginning of may are very slow and my goal with this promotion was to get some sessions booked and to show everyone that although it seems ugly this time of year, if you have a good photographer with a vision and a bomb location you can still get some incredible photos! This session was done last night February 6th and the snow session in the post before this one was shot just a couple days before. Both STUNNING! So instead of waiting till the busy season to try and get on the schedule, don't be afraid to book now. The weather has been beautiful, the overcast skies all day long have been ideal and you'll have gorgeous new photos for the new year to display all year long!
