So I've got quite a potential clients asking how my events are done and are pulled off! And I wanted to take a moment to go over how a typical event is planned from first meeting with the client to ending the game night!
I first have a sit down with the client to go over when, where and how many people will be at the event. Then we go over pricing and packages that I offer!
Once that's done I ask about what types of food their group likes and come up with a custom menu for them based on the package they pick.
After that we talk about the groups play style and find the perfect game/ games for them to play! Events usually last three to four hours so we also try to fit the games that would last with in that time frame. Either a few short games of one long game.
Then we concluded the meeting
I come up with a food list and purchase the food 2-3 days before the event depending on what items are needed. Some items are bought the day of the event of possible. I also make a list of all equipment I need (plates, pots, pans tongs, wisks, ext)
This is also when I play the game/games before the event so I can properly teach them to the clients.
The day of the event/ night before (depending on the menu) I start prepping the food. I get the food preped about 75% of the way completed. (Making dressing, marinating meats, cooking large roast, baking cakes, chopping veg and fruit. Ext..)
Then an hour before I need to leave for the event I load all items in to my car. Food, games, equipment, and game Topper ( the board game table topper that I bring to all of my events) I try to triple check everything and then head off to the clients agreed apon destination.
I show up one hr before the start time of the event for set up. ( Bring in food, equipment, topper) and prep the charcuterie boards that come with all packages. And set up the first game of the night. And prep for the first course
At start time of the event I great everyone and thank them for booking the event. And start the teach. Going over the theme of the game and how it's played. Ask if they have any clarifications and let them start playing.
Then as they play I answer any questions while they play. As well as cook / finish agreed upon menu. Trying to not push out the food too quickly or too slowly. As I'm cooking and food is being brought out I try to clean as much as possible and bring items back to my car once finished.
Then when the night is over I thank everyone again for the night and ask if anything could have been done better so I can always improve. I pack everything thing in to my car. Head home do the remaining dishes and go to bed!
That more or so goes over everything! Let me know if you have any other questions!
