Don’t make the mistake of trying to do everything!
As a small business owner with a limited or non-existent marketing budget, you might think the best thing to do is be on every social media platform to try and reach more people. WRONG!
This strategy might work for a month but it will be impossible to do everything that is necessary to run your business and consistently post on every single platform.
You will burn out and say forget it!
Instead, pick one or two and focus on those. BUT make sure these are platforms that you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy the platform then you will dread being on it and being consistent.
Consistency is the key with social media. If you don’t set unrealistic goals and start small you have a better chance of being consistent. The social media algorithms reward accounts that are consistent.

After several months of being consistent with the one or two platforms that you started with then you can add another one but only after you feel like the first two are working into your weekly routine seamlessly.

January is considered self-love month because it is the fresh start and a clean slate.
Start establish self-love and self-care habits into your daily routine.
I decided to take a quick trip to the beach to help me recharge after a crazy and hectic time. I committed to myself that I would only check my emails 3 times a day and otherwise I would be unplugged. This will allow me to decompress which means I will return to work energized and more creative.
Do little things regularly and then schedule some unplugged time in for you. You will see a major difference in your productivity and your efficiency!

MARKETING VISION BOARD
We have all heard about vision boards for your personal goals and aspirations but did you know you can use one for your Marketing Plan?!?!
YES! And the best part is it is FREE!
Step 1 - Establish what your sales goals and marketing plan are for 2023.
Step 2 - How are you going to achieve these goals? Social Media? Blog? Website? Product Launch? Be more Consistent? Focus on engagement? Email or Direct Mail campaigns? Better Follow-up with contacts? Start creating short-form videos? Grow your team? etc.
Step 3 - Search for images that reflect your answers in Steps 1 & 2
Step 4 - Take those images and add them into a layout using Canva. In Canva you will add phrases, quotes, numbers, etc mixed into your images. (If you prefer, you can also use Google Docs or just list everything in a Google Sheet.)
Step 5 - Print that layout and post it in several places. You can also download the image and use it as your computer wallpaper or lock screen on your phone.
Step 6 - Look at it every day (or multiple times a day) and remind yourself what they mean and what your goals are. The more you focus on your plan and goals the better your odds of reaching those are!
If you aren’t solo, create a monthly meeting with your team to review the board and check in on the various aspects of it.
We all know that life and business change regularly so I create quarterly boards along with an overall yearly board. This helps me stay focused on goals when they pivot in the middle of the year.

1 - Communication Style - Does it align with yours? What are the days/hours they are willing to communicate?
2 - Flexibility - Are they willing to pivot in the middle of the month? Will they not make changes until the next month?
3 - Packages preset or Customized - Do you have to fit your goals into a preset package? Will they customize a package to fit your exact goals?
4 - Reporting & Deliverables - Will they be suppling you analytics of exactly what you want to see? How often will they be giving you reports?
5- Pricing hourly or rates preset - Do you want to know exactly what you will be billed? Are you willing to be billed at an hourly rate with an undetermined number of hours? Can you limit the number of hours?
