Our cast porcelain sconces are inspired by the bottom half of a vase at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The original vase is metal and is from Japan’s Edo period.

Our CROWN OF THORNS lamps and mirrors use a joinery technique originating from 20th-century Tramp Art. Tramp Art was a style of Outsider Art where artists used pen knives to cut and notch discarded cigar boxes, and intricately laced the pieces together to make frames and boxes. We’ve revived the lost art using laser-cut steel in place of wood, which we assemble piece by piece in our studio in New Fairfield, Connecticut.

Our BIG CROWN OF THORNS LAMP has 420 interlocking pieces of laser-cut steel.

Our HALBERD BUD VASE no.2 has UV printed clear varnish from a 16th century tapestry pattern. Each piece in the ARTIFACT V.2 is inspired by a significant historical object from a museum archive. Our version holds flowers not violence.

So excited to be participating in this year’s Warm Up at MoMA PS1. Check out our set design behind @yungbabytate who is killing it right on stage rn. From the museum: “Rashid Johnson's Stage is the setting for MoMA PS1's summer outdoor music series, Warm Up. During this time, Stage is tented and framed by artist duo Wretched Flowers, whose design draws inspiration from character archetypes, and the sets of magic shows, circuses, medieval carnivals, and mid-century game shows. Warm Up is available to livestream from 4-8 p.m. on August 7, August 14, and August 21 at http://moma.org/warmup.” @momaps1 Tickets are sold out, but the installation will be up through august 23rd if you’d like to see it in person :) Couldn’t have done this without the help of my parents @mikestanish who happen to be visiting during installation.
