Check out the cover story this week for a deep dive into street vending, permitting issues, and the many challenges non-traditional food businesses face in New Orleans.
 
When reporter approached us for a follow-up on the 2021 article “Regulatory Whack-a-Mole: Getting a pop-up permitted is a nightmare in New Orleans”, we stated that we had hoped our next conversation would be about progress and the many great businesses we have worked and their successes. In that time, worked hard with City Council to create a more palpable pop-up permitting process and we are currently working on access to pushcars in the French Quarter. We see you !
 
Not to be lost in ALL THE RED TAPE are the hard-working food businesses that make it out to serve you delicious food on the reg. Big ups to all of y’all, please tag a food business that you love, or better yet, go support them directly and make your belly happy.

Greetings! Thank you for purchasing tickets for this Friday’s Garden Dinner Fundraiser at Pelican Gardens. We’re located at 300 Wagner street in Algiers. When you arrive you can park on the street or on the grass-way along the side of the long wood fence. Timing for the event will be as follows:

6pm garden opens
6:15 garden tasting tour begins
6:45 first course is served

The dinner will include one cocktail and one glass of wine in addition to non alcoholic drinks. Feel free to bring any other alcoholic drinks you may want to imbibe. We recommend not wearing high heels since the ground isn’t completely level in the garden. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. We look forward to hosting you for this very special evening!
