Finally had the opportunity to herd my family for a photoshoot. I'm so glad I was able to capture these sweet memories. After so many years of immortalizing other families precious moments, I decided I was way overdue for something special for myself and my loved ones. This was a truly priceless experience!

The twins are definitely energetic little adventurers, but I think some of the best shoots are the ones that show off all that personality!

"Your distant cousins are visiting from Oregon and want to do a sweet sixteen shoot with you, do you have anything interesting Madeleine can wear?"
Me: "Be specific, I have lots of 'interesting' clothes."
Mom: "They want a red ballgown."
Me: "Ok thats ridiculously specific and yes I do have one."

I met the Sori family on a 19 day sail from Tahiti to Sydney in 2017. I had the pleasure of photographing the quinceanera portraits for the second daughter, Lauryn. We had a wonderful time and throughout the cruise we ended up spending lots of time together, going exploring in ports and attending ship festivities. I even taught the youngest daughter, Marin, to play ukulele. By the end of the cruise I had been declared a part of the family and they insisted I should come visit them at their home in Florida.

We have kept in touch through the years and it’s been a blessing to be considered part of this wonderful family. So when It was time to immortalize Marins coming-of-age in portraiture, I was honored to be the only photographer considered for the job. They booked the beautiful Miami historic Spanish monastery “St Bernard De Clairvaux,” and flew me out for the occasion.

Marin Sori, I am so proud of the woman you have become and I cannot wait to see you in full bloom. The springtime of your life has only just begun to blossom. Happy Quinceanera!

Those of you who know me personally, know that five years ago, my life changed completely when I took to the seas as an international portrait photographer. I've since shot in over 50 different countries, worked with other experienced artists from around the globe, and photographed thousands and thousands of new subjects. Obviously the pandemic has brought me home, so I figured it is time to share some of my recent work with the world again.

For starters, my Grandma, dressed in her mothers traditional Hanbok. My great grandparents had 6 children and adopted 8 Korean war orphans, they opened the first international adoption agency, Holt International, back in the 1950's. My Grandma was one of the biological children and lived in Korea for many years working at the orphanage, she is a beautiful soul and a blessing to know, just overflowing with love for everyone.
