Loved designing this bridal bouquet for my cousin’s wedding this past weekend. The colors were soft and romantic! I loved using a variety of flowers- roses, peonies, ranunculus, larkspur, snapdragons, dianthus, alliums, corn cockle, and more. Thank you to Ella June Gardens for some fun, unique flowers! I especially loved the pink astilbe 💖

This season has kicked my butt and it’s only the 1st week of April…. The realities of flower farming are you can have the best plan and goals but that doesn’t mean you are going to reach those goals. I can’t make the flowers grow and bloom… I can do the best I can to make conditions favorable to growing, caring for those plants, watering, weeding, bug control, etc… but that’s doesn’t guarantee a beautiful flower at the end of it. I didn’t plan for my ranunculus disaster, or for all the bug and rodent pressure, for the weeds to overtake some of my rows, etc… But that’s my reality at the moment. Does that mean I am giving up? Some days I sure feel like it but that’s just a feeling. I have never been a quitter and that’s not changing. I may change the way I do some things but I keep on keeping on, planning and planting the next crops to have blooming this year. AND I am definitely more thankful when the flowers do bloom beautifully! 🌸🌸🌸 There is always hope and Christ who gives me the strength to keep going. 🌸🌸

Happy Monday! 💐 Weekly bouquet designed for a customer- love this purple and white ranunculus! (Only one plant survived out of 50 so it’s a special one! It defied all the odds to survive. 💜)
We have lots of sun and wonderful temperatures coming this week and I am so excited about it! Spring is coming! 💐

Happy Tuesday! I am so thankful to have a few beautiful blooms even when it’s still winter outside. On Sunday we woke up to snow on the ground which proceeded to melt by that evening. This poppy looked so pretty with the snow in the background. 🧡❄️🧡❄️
Hope you have a great week!

Always an exciting week when the lisianthus plugs show up! 🌱🌱🌱 They are ones I have never tried growing from seed because they take so long to grow. Plus I want to make sure I have enough. ☺️ I am trying a couple new varieties this season but am sticking with similar colors as previous years. White, blush and apricot. Also the popular Rosanne Brown which I couldn’t get last season. 🙌🏻 Looking forward to getting them planted in the greenhouse. 🌱🌱🌱

The last couple of days have been so pretty! 🌱🌱🌱 The flowers are slowly but surely starting to bloom. ❤️ I picked my first small mixed bouquet yesterday which included anemones, calendulas and one sweet smelling apricot stock. This makes me so happy and excited for the upcoming flower season.

Happy Monday! ❤️ So many things on the to do list this week and I am ready for it! (I think 🤣) It’s suppose to be sunny today with a high of 50F (what?!!) The plants in the greenhouse will love it along with many of us in this area. Crazy how wonderful it is to see and feel the sun after all the foggy and cloudy days! Hope you have an incredible week!

Scoop scabiosa~ I am trying them for first time this year and am really excited to see how they do. So far they are looking great in the greenhouse. (Picture taken this morning) They are suppose to be bigger than the average scabiosa and have a longer vase life. The color I am most excited about is French Vanilla which is suppose to be a white/blush color. I am guessing they should be blooming sometime in May/June- just in time for wedding season. 💕🤍💕🤍💕
I purchased the plugs from (2nd picture is off their website)

Currently still experiencing this Arctic Blast where our low in the morning was -4F and the high was just 14F. ❄️❄️❄️ The day was nice and sunny which I love more than it being gray and warmer. ☺️ One benefit of the cold is having all this snow stick around! Many times it snows here and soon melts. Our family has been enjoying it immensely and spend some of the afternoon sledding down one of our hills. Oh the amazing memories that have been made and will continue. ❤️❤️❤️

We are currently living in a winter wonderland and I absolutely love the beauty of it all. ❄️❄️❄️ As I looked outside when I got up this morning, the beauty of it all took my breath away and I couldn’t wait to get outside and just be in it all. ❄️ Yes, it takes a bit longer to care for all the animals and worry can take a hold when thinking about losing power to heat the greenhouse when it’s so cold, or losing dahlia tubers if the temperature in storage dips below freezing… but I can do all I can to be prepared and then just let that worry go. ❄️❄️❄️
These verses have been a great reminder to me:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 ❤️

As the sun was setting the other night, it lit up everything including my greenhouse. This is such a special space for me, especially during the cold, winter months. To walk in and tend to all these special plants that will be beautiful spring blooms is such a gift. I can’t wait to share them with you again! Stay tuned for some exciting news coming in the next few weeks.
