🍳 As we close up the truck... I think back to the past 5 months we have been open. Holy sh*t, did I learn a lot. Cry a lot, take a lot of Aleve (getting old is for the birds). There were many times I sat in the truck thinking wtf did we get into, maybe I'm in over my head. I can’t do this...
The truck itself has kicked my ass for 5 months, Zac can attest. Between cleaning what the previous owners left behind, to the fuel issues to basically catching on fire, right before my eyes, 🤦🏼♀️ the list seems to go on. But I refused to let it stop me from doing what I truly was passionate about.
Are we the fastest, nope. And I have a sign that lets you know this. But are my niece and nephew learning valuable life lessons, learning to multi-task, thinking of ideas and have the ability to pursue them, every time we are together, yup. ❤
Did I plan ahead accordingly every time, nope. Did I get myself and everyone else in the weeds, yup... But without those experiences I would have never learned. Don’t always beat yourself up about “mistakes,” sometimes it’s the only way to learn. You can train, go to school, read, shadow ... but let's be honest the most brutal lessons learned are the ones that smack you right in the face.
My take away from the past 5 months is this…
The people that support you and notice your hard work are everything... every drop by, every share, like ... it all means the world to us ... every time I look out and see a line at our truck my heart is incredibly full.
Some people just aren't going to have grace... and that’s ok. It gives me the opportunity to grow, to learn, and to make sure we never become those people... and do better next time…
The businesses that have asked us to set up shop at their place or friends that have asked us to cater their parties cannot begin to imagine how grateful we are…
Never be afraid to ask for help... you can’t begin to imagine how many people want to lend a hand, want to he
