DJ Kervyn Mark The official artist page of DJ/Producer Kervyn Mark. The Gate Keeper of Deep Soulful House Culture! Mark has…PERIOD!!! No has been able to duplicate that.

Sweet, soulful melodies and a profound, jazzy vibe are what you can expect from internationally acclaimed DJ Kervyn Mark. After 30+ years of devotion to the underground music industry, he has carved his niche as a renaissance man who has done it all. The boundlessness of his skills does not go unnoticed in his hometown of New York City where he is labeled “the world’s busiest DJ”. In terms of his

music library in terms of deep soulful house and perhaps dance music as a whole, few DJ’s have as large a musical library that Mr. He is a gate keeper New York’s soulful dance music. He has produced some of the best outdoor festival events through is Melting Pot Global/The Real brand that was started in 2002. He has produced the largest events at the famed Coney Island Boardwalk where he had guests ranging from Louie Vega, John “Jellybean” Benitez, Tony Humphries, DJ Spinna, Ian Friday to the You tube famed event with Sting International that drew over 5000 revelers. He was one of the resident DJs for Jellybean’s “Ain’t Nothin’ but a House Party” for 3 years. When it comes to the soulful house scene he is the only DJ/Promoter to have created and done successful event at public parks such as Battery Park, Empire Fulton State Park, Riverbank State Park and the Frying Pan and more recently the Coney Island Artwalls. Through Melting Pot Global djs such as The Martinez Brothers got the necessary venue and press to give their careers the impetus to superstardom. But there’s more. He is a film maker and historian. Kervyn is one of the Producers, the Historian and Co-writer of the movie “Maestro-Documentary”; a film which explores the history, the roots, and the spirit of New York House Music. He is also a producer of another film “Hands to The Sky” documentary that turns a lens on deejays, musicians, fans and feelings inspired by outdoor soulful and deep house music dance parties. As an activist he initiated and created the “HOUSE COALITION” that participates and is the main staple of the NYC DANCE PARADE. It recently help the unethical New York City Cabaret law get eradicated. Starting in 2009 he engineered and created the now wildly successful “Annual Paradise Garage Reunion” that draws 2000 devotees every year to hear the 2 remaining resident DJs of the fabled club. But as a DJs deejay, the challenge connecting and spiritually moving the dance crowd is what drives Kervyn Mark to consistently provide a solid groove and more importantly a spiritual musical experience. And the word is unanimous through the years: Kervyn has been booked for high profile events presented by Body and Soul NYC (5 times) Roots NYC, FUNKBOX NYC, 718 Sessions, PS 1, Festivus, Soul Summit @ Fort Greene, Sundae Sermon, and the list goes on. He has played at events attended and/or hosted by fashion maven Suzanne Barstch. Yet Kervyn maintained his street credibility by jacking bodies both at high society gigs for places like Club Cielo (NYC) at his Funky Lil’ Tea Party/LYFE. He has shared the deck with heavyweights and legends DJs Francois K, Danny Krivit, Osunlade, The Martinez Brothers, Louie Vega, Kevin Hedge, Kenny Dope’ Gonzalez, Tony Humphries, Rich Medina and veritable who’s who. Presently he is the resident dj at “Sunday Tea On The Roof” at Club Six26. The reason for Kervyn’s success is a simple ricochet effect: the love and support he receives keeps him going strong and his love of the music and the positive effect is has on all races and creeds keeps the vibe alive with determination, passion, and the upstanding mission to touch the heart of the ones who love music as much as he does.

I am teaming up with St. James Joy at the Good Room in Brooklyn for a MLK Birthday Celebration on Sunday, January 18th.

St. James Joy is a community-driven musical movement and father-son DJ duo based in Brooklyn, New York.

The duo consists of DJ Jo Vill and his son DJ Chill (Chad Vill). They are best known for their signature house and soul music sets that emphasize community, equity, and messages of hope.

The movement began in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic on St. James Place in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. What started as a single speaker playing music to lift the spirits of neighbors and essential workers evolved into massive weekly socially distanced block parties.

These events are celebrated as "multigenerational" and "all-age" gatherings where house music enthusiasts of all backgrounds—including families with toddlers—dance together in broad daylight.

The duo has garnered international attention for their "purposeful" parties and has collaborated with brands like Gap and venues such as the Ace Hotel Brooklyn and BRIC House.

Throughout 2025, St. James Joy has continued to host various events in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Monthly Residencies: They hold regular "Joyful Nights" in the lobby of the Ace Hotel Brooklyn.

Major Events: They performed at the BRIC House Party in September 2025 and provided the soundtrack for the NYC Marathon block party in November 2025.

Born in 1996 in New York City, Body & Soul started as a weekly Sunday afternoon party at Club Vinyl, located at 6 Hubert Street in Tribeca. It was created by François K. (François Kevorkian) and John Davis, with resident DJs Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, and François K himself.

The party became legendary for its deep, soulful, organic house music — blending house, Afro-Latin rhythms, disco, jazz, and spiritual grooves — and for its inclusive, music-first vibe that brought together people from all walks of life.

Body & Soul ran every Sunday from 1996 until 2002, attracting devoted followers who danced together in a spirit of community and Club Vinyl between 1996 and 2002.

The Tribute Mix #4 (and other parts) by DJ Kervyn Mark on SoundCloud is a homage to that era and vibe — capturing the sound and tracks that echo the Body & Soul experience at Club Vinyl between 1996 and 2002.

While not an official mix from the original party, it reflects the spiritual, soulful and classic house tracks that defined the Body & Soul sound and its extended legacy in underground dance culture.

After Club Vinyl closed in 2002, Body & Soul didn’t disappear — it evolved into events and celebrations worldwide and influenced house music culture well beyond NYC.
