Growing up, my mom would often speak about the sacred act of infusing energy into our meals using a curved blade. It's a beautiful, almost effortless way to transfer your essence, your care, and your love into every dish you prepare.
This concept has always fascinated me—how the intangible like love and energy can tangibly elevate a meal. That's the true magic of cooking, isn't it?

My path was carved early on, surrounded by the sparks and woods of my father's workshop. He wasn't a knife maker but an artisan in his own right, who instilled in me the freedom to explore and create.

Guided by curiosity and encouraged by my father's support, I found inspiration in a box of what many would see as mere rusty material.

Among these, horseshoe rasps—a tool my father used in caring for our horses—sparked not just metal but a passion within me. This exploration of material and craftsmanship laid the foundation for what Chelsea Miller Knives would become.

Among the hundreds of knives I've crafted, people often wonder if there's one that stands out as my favorite.

After years of honing my skill in making chef's knives, I sensed something was amiss. It led me back to the drawing board—focusing intently on the angles, curves, and overall silhouette. The result? This knife.

A piece that truly encapsulates the essence of my work, representing not just a tool, but a journey towards perfection.

Here stands my favorite Chelsea Miller chef knife...

Crafting Over 500 Knives, my journey began with creations like these, unsure of their purpose, evolving into cherished cheese knives and beyond.

Each blade I forge carries the essence of its former life, incorporating recycled materials with a story.

The wood, sourced from the forests of Vermont where I grew up, and the metal, from repurposed horseshoe rasps, maintain a deep connection to the earth.

When hosting a dinner or curating a space, I lean into the unexpected.

It's about those items not designed with a singular purpose in mind, yet they add a unique quality, sparking conversations and enriching experiences.

My workshop is a reflection of this philosophy—brimming with chaos, each item a memento of places, times, and faces.

Contrastingly, my kitchen is a serene haven. This duality between chaos and calmness, between the workshop and the kitchen, mirrors the balance I strive for in life and art.

This charcuterie board not only tantalizes the taste buds but also serves as a visually appealing centerpiece for your gatherings.

The beautiful balance between the wild, untamed energy of metal meeting the grinding stone, and the tranquil, meditative process of working with wood.

Each piece I create embodies this perfect duality, merging the masculine with the feminine, the light with the dark, the powerful with the peaceful.

It's in this harmony where the magic happens, crafting objects that are not just tools, but symbols of life's dualistic nature.

Being a creator is not just about living the dream and making your own schedule.

It's about the discipline, the accountability to oneself, and the conscious decision of how you want to feel every day.

I build my days around that ethos, ensuring I show up for myself, crafting a life that aligns with my purpose.
