A PSAL battle takes center stage in the event finale, as Cardozo and Stevenson square off in a rematch of last year’s two-point thriller, won by the Judges. Cardozo looks to repeat history, led by standout senior Jayden Brister, who is averaging a team-high 17 points per game while guiding his squad to a 10-3 record and second place in Queens’ 4A Division.

Stevenson, however, has made key roster improvements since last season. Despite struggles in the Manhattan/Bronx 4A division, junior guard Yohansel Batista has been a bright spot. The Dominican Republic native has been sensational in his first season in the U.S., averaging 14 points and five rebounds per game. Expect another hard-fought battle in this PSAL matchup.

This NY vs. PA matchup showcases two of the premier post-grad programs in the region. Rocktop is headlined by 7-footer Tammar Brown, a two-way talent with a versatile skill set for his size. He will be a force on both ends of the floor.

On the other side, Knox School, a Long Island-based program, features a strong core of local standouts. Big man Peter DaCruz, a skilled lefty, thrives in the paint and has a knack for making key plays around the rim. With Brown and DaCruz poised to battle inside, other players will need to step up to push their teams toward victory.

This year’s rubber match has all the ingredients for another thriller. Timberlake will be key once again, but he’ll face stiff competition from Norfolk State commit Ahmad Torrence. Meanwhile, TMA’s 6’10” big man AbdouAkim Mazou has the potential to be a game-changer in the paint.
