A woman-, immigrant- and LGBTQ-owned private 5,000sq ft event space in Gowanus, Brooklyn. We host both private celebrations and public ticketed events, and love working with under-served minority groups. With oversized windows and 11' ceilings, the space feels modern and open, while the newly exposed brick walls, wood floors and exposed-beam ceilings retain the classic New York loft vibe. Dependin

g on configuration, the Loft can fit up to 150 seated / up to 200 standing. The open space is divided into zones that connect to each other for a balance between flow and separation of purpose (stage & dance floor, lounge, bar) -- this helps it feel cozy with as few as 75 people. The Loft is serviced by a gender-neutral bathroom with three stalls (two are ADA-accessible). A permanent photo booth or gallery area is at the entrance, with a magnetic wall that easily accommodates backdrops or art. A 10'x20' catering kitchen is being built out in 2024, but a few elements (ice machine, triple sinks, refrigerator) are connected and ready for use. The Loft is particularly well-suited for events with live entertainment, with a full sound system & lighting grid, DJ booth, and 20'x4' dressing room with direct stage access. The 12'x15'x2' reconfigurable stage is made up of eight individual 3x8 platforms and a separate drum riser. Mood lighting throughout the space is via smart bulbs controlled by a house ipad, and can be entirely customized to each event. All furniture and tech gear can be moved into a custom configuration for your event, but the Loft is event-ready as is at all times. With: The L Train Brass Band, New Heights Brass Band & Off the Bar Brass — and us flying in #kingcake from New Orleans. Sat March 4, and 🎟 are already flying. Seen here: the inimitable Funkrust Brass Band at our snowy NYE fairytale wonderland two months back.

Brass bands are our favorite party music. This was Banda Rim Bam Boom at Halloween in our new Loft; and we’re looking forward to Funkrust Brass Band on NYE at our snowy The Winter Fae Ball. [Quick tix update: low income level is SOLD OUT, about 20 GA tix remain, plus Supporter & Patron tix.]

Our Story

A luscious DIY event space in Gowanus, Brooklyn run by Gemini & Scorpio, producers of themed costume events with live entertainment, the G&S Loft is dedicated to providing affordable performing arts space - as well as being available for select private events. The Loft is about 2,000 sq ft of open space, with stage, seating, lights, sound and backline. There are two new toilets, heat/air conditioning, and a sprawling roof. All furniture and tech gear can be moved into a custom configuration for your event, but the loft is event-ready as is at all times. The Loft is reachable by virtually all trains.

We’ve hosted immersive theater shows, TV/film/video shoots, fashion sales, lectures, weddings, private parties, music shows, and so much more. We welcome your vision!
