Wait, did I mention I just officiated another student’s wedding?
For the past seven years I have known Paul, he has continuously showed up to Erica’s family with love, care, understanding, and an open mind for both their language and culture. As a friend, Paul always shows up with the biggest support he can give, proofreading my OG book manuscripts for MANY TIMES. When I first heard of Paul going on a trip with with Erica’s dad to HK WITHOUT Erica being there, my jaw dropped in admiration because … can you imagine yourself doing that with your in-laws who speak a different language 🤪? I also can’t get over how Erica’s family calls him “Lil Paul 波仔.”

A dream came true ❤️ I got to officiate my student’s wedding!
Through years of Cantonese group classes with Megan, I have spot Ricco cooking and making silly side comments in the Zoom background. Like many cross-cultural couples, Megan wanted to learn Cantonese to communicate better with her partner’s family and get to know her partner on a deeper level. She has always blown my mind when she shared with me her repertoire of Cantonese pop songs (that I don’t even know) and how much joy she had sharing those moments with Ricco. Here, outside of our Zoom classes, I wish you both a happiest marriage and a lifetime of shared passions together. 🎤🎤
