this charming & fun Omusubi* master, Miki from Japan and Ai, long time host of Supper club in Brooklyn will collaborate to bring you a fun and tasty evening & afternoon.

A casual, chill vibe social event over “Omusubi” and Japanese inspired food to celebrate the evening of spring and create new connections and new friends.
Miki will explain brief history and the meanings behind this staple Japanese food at the event and cater you creative and unconventional style of Omusubi, Ai will serve Japanese inspired food using local ingredients and make sure people have a good time:)
Aperitif will be served at the beginning of the event.
Let’s have new & fun experience through Omusbi!

Learning about the philosophy, history, and the meanings behind this simple rice ball will be a fun afternoon event on your Saturday! You will learn how to make Omusubi (of course) and also learn much more about it. Miki will teach you hands on making Omusubi with you and make your own creation choosing from more than 20 seasonings and we create Omusubi art together!
Food by Ai will be served at the end of the workshop.

Omusubi:
The word “Musubi” means “connection” and “tie”in Japanese.
In Shintoism, it is considered that all the things in the universe are produced and develop by the power of “Musubi”
Miki hosts ”Omusubi de OMUSUBI ” in Tokyo, which is the event to connect people through omusubi!

Last minutes! but super fun Omusubi (aka Onigiri, rice ball) workshop with Miki from Tokyo on this Thursday and Sunday!
Miki has been a caterer specialized in Rice balls and known for her unconventional style of Onigiri. Her charm and fun style onigiri will bring you a fun evening:) Kids friendly!

Thursday, April 25th 6pm door open 6:30pm Start

Sunday, April 28th

2:30pm session start

First session: Miki will explain the philosophy and brief history of Onigiri, while she teaches basic techniques.

Second session: Create your own flavor choosing from a variety of options:)

Final session : Enjoy your own creation and family style food that goes along with Onigiri (made by me!)

Ajito is a social dinner club based in brooklyn., where chef Ai serves seasonal ingredients with a hint of Japanese twist.  A Social dinner club shares the table, conversation, and experience with other guests while enjoying carefully prepared food.

Chef Ai’s food reflects her background and roots, looking back fondly at meals she created with her mom, as well as reflecting on the experiences had over years of traveling the U.S. and the world.

NYでは農家直販のファーマーズマーケットで買い付けたローカルな食材を中心に、自作の陶器にのせて季節のコース料理やケータリングを振る舞い人々を楽しませています。かしこまったディナーというよりは、美味しいものをみんなで食べ、一つのテーブルから生まれる会話を楽しむ、というソーシャルディナークラブスタイルです。

Hi there, it was short lived open to public dinners in december..
now back to Private events only in Jan and Feb!

Dinner group minimum 6 people in Jan-feb.
Catering for any occasions is also available.

At least one guest in every household must get covid test 2 days prior to the dinner.

* I will be out of town from March-April!
