Small brown-haired animal character "Cheburashka" and "Krokodil Gena" (Crocodile Gena (Russian: Крокодил Гена) and Cheburashka (Russian: Чебурашка) were born in Soviet Union. In 1966 Russian writer Eduard Uspensky wrote a book "Crocodile Gena and His Friends" (1966) where the famous Russian cartoon characters were first introduced. Hugely popular Soviet made stop-motion animated cartoon-film was

made by Roman Kachanov. The MULTIK (Cartoon) was released by "Soyuzmultfilm studio", Soviet Union’s major animated film studio.
