Dear Red Hook Jazz Festival Artists, Supporters, Friends & Volunteers:

With profound regret, we are announcing that, after eleven consecutive years of the RHJF presenting well over a hundred ensembles, we will not be holding the festival this year. For 2019, we are taking a very much needed break.

As a 100% volunteer, grassroots festival, there are many factors that have come into play which make it necessary for us to pull back and carefully consider our next steps.

As disappointed as we are not to not present our twelfth consecutive year of the RHJF, we also know this is the right thing for us to do.

The past eleven years of the festival has been an incredible run for which we are very proud — we've had a blast bringing some of the greatest musicians in the world to the Urban Meadow for audiences of all ages to hear.

We want to thank all of the great musicians that have played over the years and to everyone who came out in support of the festival. We'd also like to thank all the volunteers of the Urban Meadow who helped us put on the Red Hook Jazz Festival for the past 11 years!

MANY THANKS TO ONE AND ALL!

Keep supporting jazz — in Brooklyn and worldwide.

Peace,

Mike Golub
founder of the RHJF
co-organizer of the Urban Meadow

James Keepnews
co-director of the RHJF
