I just had the incredible opportunity to see my daughter, Brooke Ishibashi, perform in a breathtaking new play at Lincoln Center in NYC. "Willie K"! Remembering the late William Kahaialii on his birthdate.

The last time I saw Willie was at the Coach House. Mid show he called out in his Willie K manner "Hey, Gerald Ishibashi out there?! This for You." and proceed to improvise and play an amazing Santana medley of songs*. While the audience responded enthusiastically, I was sad for I realized this was his Aloha to me. He passed soon after. Truly one of a kind, there will never be another Willie K. I miss him.
p.s. His brother Wilmont and I are working on a project together
*Explanation; We, the Stonebridge Band/Corazon Kings had performed a concert along with Willie and had performed a set of Carlos Santana songs.
