nt you step inside the doors and set your eyes on the the rich decor of the main dining room's teal and dusty rose blends trimmed throughout with the original mahogany-toned wood. The walls of the The Train Station are rich with the history of Newport News' downtown, railroad and waterways. The real purpose of the visit is to experience the best crab cakes on the Virginia Peninsula, made with 100% lump crab meat- no filler, fried and broiled trout, and mouth watering peach and apple cobbler. While the menu concentrates on seafood, we have something to interest everyone. Join us on Friday evenings for Hampton Roads' most talented jazz musicians; and on Sundays, for traditional southern cuisine on the Sunday After Church Buffet.The view of the James River, the historical flavor and artifacts throughout the building, the delicious food and the service make The Train Station a positive dining experience. Proper firearm safety and storage is paramount. To aid in this effort, NNPD is giving away free gun locks to Newport News citizens until June 1 or while supplies last. Citizens can come to NNPD Headquarters at 9710 Jefferson Ave. between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday, from today through June 1 to pick up a free gun lock, limit of one per person.
