Went to walk the dogs and felt some comfort in my new neighborhood in Sharon. Being Jewish has never felt so different. I have many stories of people being antisemitic towards me in my lifetime including part of why I left a job in the islands last year working on a yacht cheffing where I was treated poorly… didn’t realize till the stories start coming to me with all that’s going on and recent discussions how normalized antisemitism was for me - part of why my parents moved us to a Jewish Hood when I was in 3rd grade in Newton when I was young. Newton was diverse but heavily populated with Jewish people where I didn’t feel different - now the world makes me feel like I have to watch my back - startling on so many levels. I have always been proud to be Jewish - within our community we take trips to Israel when we are young which are paid for by Israel for all Jewish people to learn about our homeland and history. We travel and visit the holy historical places and sleep and work in kibbutz’s and with local Israeli families. My childhood we were constantly reminded of the holocaust and to never forget and never allow it to happen again. My best friend who went to school at Newton South is there now - our cousins and business colleagues are there now… I speak with them daily and can verify what is real in Israel. I speak with my friends from Palestine and what’s real and tragic happening there. My heart bleeds for humans suffering anywhere. I must say when you hear things growing up over and over about history of your people and our situation as the smallest minority nationally it’s ingrained in your mind. I never had to use the knowledge that I was taught about genocide of Jewish people until now. History made sense then but felt like a million years ago and now makes complete sense and feels like yesterday. I am not going to stay silent which is why the holocaust happened. I pray for innocent civilians in Palestine but will never tolerate terrorism and hate crimes anywhere and this one makes me feel like I need to scream out loud - I am Jewish! Let our people go!

My dear friend lost her husband - D’lish had the priveledge of catering their wedding and it was a memorable one for me and Jane Pofcher-goldman
