🥳 Busy Buddies 1st Birthday Party! Thank you to all who came to celebrate this milestone.

A year ago, with a 3-year-old and 3-month-old in tow, I decided to start this business with no idea what to expect. I posted on a local moms Facebook group, and to my delight (and surprise) people came! Many of those people are still attending today. 💖 To all of you who are part of the Busy Buddies family - I am so grateful for you! This business wouldn’t be possible without your support.

I’m in awe of what has grown in a year, and I feel incredibly blessed that I get to do what I love every day. Meeting so many wonderful people and bringing joy to play and learning for children - this is honestly a dream come true.

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!

🌻Little Buddies kicking off fall sessions with our Sunflower Stroll theme! Taste-safe sensory bases included chia seeds and oobleck. This was a first-time painting experience for many of these infants/young toddlers and they LOVED it.

🪸🐠This week was a major highlight, and I adore the outcome of this coral reef theme! Aesthetically pleasing, and completely captivating for all of these young participants.

Our Carry Play table from has not only been a great addition to my business, but also to my home life!

Isla is really starting to love Playdough, since she began playing with it during her Little Buddies playgroups! She enjoys smushing it around, exploring the play pieces that we pair with it, and she is slowly but surely learning to not eat it. 😆

We are usually desperate to find ways to engage the kids while meals are being prepped (Isla in particular has a very hard time waiting while food is cooking). I pulled out this playdough set and they were so engaged while we got dinner ready!

I love that our Carry Play table can accommodate both of my kids, even with their height and age differences! It makes the perfect little play spot to set up a quick activity, and then it folds up and tucks away when we’re done.

🍋🍓🍉 July has been busy and “berry” fun! From lemons to berries to watermelon, each week brought a new fruit theme and each program brought its own unique twist. Ranging from taste-safe sensory exploration with the littles to play-based skill-building with our preschoolers, and with ample room for creativity through each age-group.

When I look around these playgroups, I see children highly engaged in creative play, interacting and navigating sharing with peers, and developing new skills without even knowing they are doing any “work.” My heart is full from what has blossomed so far this summer, and from seeing the joy brought to all these little faces!

Next week we are moving away from fruit themes and onto the ocean. 🐠🦀

My favorite simple summer sensory activity: water play with pompoms! Throw in scoops, bowls, and even juicers for added fun and fine motor work! Ballpit balls are a great option for littles who are still exploring with their mouths.

The first of many things that I love about the Carry Play table by is that it’s perfect for water play! When finished playing, leave it to dry (pompoms can be left out to dry too) then the table folds up for easy storage!

Happy 1st birthday to Isla! Can’t fully understand how this milestone came so fast… 🥹 I came up with the idea for Busy Buddies when Isla was just 2 months old, and she’s been my sidekick through it all. She’s starting to LOVE sensory play, and I’m really excited to have her join playgroups this summer. In the meantime, I’m going to be soaking up as many of the little moments as possible. 💗

It was an honor to be a part of Grace’s 4th birthday & Caiden’s 1st birthday party! They had an amazingly fun & unique combo unicorn/dinosaur theme. 🦄🦖

This custom party featured taste-safe sensory play for the babies (a shallow water play bin and Cheerios “sand” for a dino dig). For the toddlers, we had a variety of unicorn and dinosaur themed sensory stations from rice to playdough to water play. In addition, each child was able to choose between a dinosaur or unicorn wand for their individual art project to keep (the results were very cool!) And of course the collaborative “cake decorating” project for our grand finale.

Such a fun way to celebrate 2 very special kiddos. 🥳

🍃 🌹 Did you know leaves and plants can actually be much easier to cut through than paper? This “garden cutting” activity is a fun and beneficial task for preschoolers. I love incorporating opportunities to build fine motor development in a unique and playful manner.

Since kids in our playgroups are in a wide range of ages and stages, I provided a variety of scissors and hole-punches suitable for various levels. The squeeze scissors are a really great option for kids just learning how to cut!

Included in the plant bin - leaves from around the yard, flowers from the garden, and fresh herbs from the fridge/garden. The incredible smells from the various herbs and flowers really elevated this sensory experience!

So, long story short: pick some plants, grab a pair of scissors, and have fun! 🌱 ✂️ 🌸

Need a kids activity to beat the heat? Try adding tempera pearl paint to level up your water play! Different colors will achieve a different look… I love this shimmery green to create a bog with lily pads, frogs and bugs. Pre-K process art: Spring layered canvases! 🌸🐛 Starting in week one with a blank canvas, each week our Pre-K friends added one “layer” to their canvas. Here’s the fun part - no paintbrushes were used to create these! 🌷Layer 1: Flowers - painting with carnations 💧Layer 2: “Water” - drip painting method using a spoon and blue paint 🫧Layer 3: Bubbles - bubble solution + liquid watercolors = a magical way to paint! 🪱Layer 4: Bugs!
