Another window from in the biggest kitchen there ever was. I wish I could have spent a day simply styling the beautiful windows throughout the property. Deep windowsills, original fixtures and hardware, old windows that open to a stunning Tuscan countryside. Dreamy....imagine your bridal bouquet photographed in one of these windows that hold hundreds of years of stories ❤️

Thinking of incorporating extra interest to your tablescape with fruits? If so, first of all, I'm 💯 in! I love small details like fruit, colorful veggies, various nuts in the fall, you get the idea.

Here is a tip: if your event is outdoors, you might want to skip slicing into food items. Especially sweet fruits which will almost certainly attract some unwelcome guests like ants, flies, and various stingy insects like wasps and yellow jackets! 🍋🍊🍅🍒🍓🥝🥭🍐Hope this helps someone out there avoid an unpleasant experience!

Back in Tuscany again for today's post 🇮🇹

The welcome dinner the evening before the wedding called for a simple table scape of candles, bud vases and accents of fruit and cherry tomatoes. Perfect for an elevated and elegant pizza party where the wine was flowing, the ambience on point and the pizza was made the old fashioned way!

If you are considering a destination wedding in Tuscany, I can't recommend Simona from enough! She orchestrated so much to make this wedding come together and is one of the nicest women you will ever meet! I would love the opportunity to come back to Tuscany to do this crazy adventure again! If it's on your mind let's talk about it!

Annie and Lol's dreamy Tuscan wedding was held in the most amazing villa... and the charm was absolutely oozing from every nook and cranny. I found this fantastic large jar and was able to throw together a quick hallway arrangement inside with some of the extra flowers.

I have a strange attachment to doors and windows, and the buildings in Italy and France did not disappoint. Always a sucker for a wide window sill, I had to do a couple of small window vignettes at while I had the privilege of being there! Here is one, in my favorite style...sweet, simple, and natural. I literally could have clipped the olive, tomatoes, and pears for this right outside. Fantastico!

What a week! I'm still processing everything I got to see, do, and accomplish over the past week. And here is a weird sentence for me...today I woke up in Tuscany, Italy, and I'm going to bed in Nice, France. After a long and hot day of travel, and I got settled into an amazing flat in the heart of Old Town Nice, France. We had an amazing dinner (yet again) and had an ice cream while watching the town turn into insanity before heading back for the night. Our 20-something year old selves probably would have been in the middle of it all, but I think it made us realize we are getting old 😆 Tomorrow, reservations at a beach club where we will relax the day away on the French Riviera. A girl could get used to this! 🇫🇷⛱️

People keep asking if I've started packing for my trip yet...😂😂😂 More like:

1. still doing laundry.
2. the only lists I have are for my couple and flower/work related, as far as my personal lists...notta one
3. working on another beautiful wildflower inspired wedding for Saturday before I leave!
4. all 8 presses are full so organizing that for my very dear and trusted gals .burnhisel and to baby while I'm away
5. wondering if I'll be able to sneak in a mani/Pedi
6. knowing that my partner in crime will stay on top of me or go shopping with me for whatever I end up forgetting

On a side note, this post has pictures of Olivia's bridal bouquet that we are preserving 3 dimensionally to create a design in a shadowbox. The feverfew might be my favorite thing in the world right now!

Ok...so to be fair and completely transparent, I've never grown roses in my life until I purchased two bare roots from Aldi last year. I don't even know what cultivar this is but I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED. It is so perfect. And now that I'm not growing thousands of annuals every year... I have space...and more time...should I....?????? Lots of research to be done possibly a second mortgage on the house (just kidding). Someone talk me out of it 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

I have some very exciting news to share!!!

This Saturday, I am leaving to flower a wedding in Tuscany! I have to keep pinching myself because I still can't believe I've had this absolutely incredible opportunity! I simply adore the couple I get to work with, and I'm so thrilled to play a part in such a marvelous celebration! Like, over the moon, filled with joy one hundred times over! With mutual friends attending I know this will be a week for the books!!

One of my oldest, dearest, and closest friends is joining me to help and I know she is going to be a rock star! Someone has to keep me in line and she has had 30 years of practice ❤️

With all of the planning, organizing, and tying up loose ends this week (and one more fabulous couple to create wedding flowers for!) I am unable to accept any additional preservation work for the rest of June and May not be as quick to respond to emails and messages as I usually am. Thank you for your understanding!

Thanks so much for sticking with me these years and joining me in my flower adventures! I am officially open to traveling for floral design!! If I can pull it off in Italy, I can pull it off just about anywhere! I can't wait to share my journey!!

Yesterday was the most perfect day! The sun was out, a breeze in the air and I had my first wedding at ! Macy and Joel wanted lots of color, playful design, and a wildflower look and I enjoyed every minute! Working on the arbor was utter meditation for me ..across the pond in a clearing among old pine trees which offered shade, it was just me, the flowers, and the birds. Congratulations to this very sweet couple!

Grounded meadows are such versatile floral components to add to your wedding decor (and something I LOVE creating!)

Here are two arrangements from Danae and Caleb's wedding. In this case, they were placed at the ceremony location to add pops of color and beauty, then later easily repurposed to accent their sweetheart table. With so many uses, it is definitely something to consider for your wedding!

Use grounded arrangements:
- as aisle entry flowers
- as ceremony decor
- to accent your signs (welcome, seating, champagne wall, etc)
- at the entry of your reception space
- in front of your sweetheart table (add one or two more for a "nest" of flowers)
- place on top of barrels, pillars, or harlows for extra drama
- place next to your cake table
- you get the idea :) Where else would you use great statement pieces like grounded florals?

My very first rose! I was so beyond excited to see her and probably shouldn't have cut her but I did 🤷🏼‍♀️

Full disclosure about me and roses...I used to strongly dislike them. Most likely from my days working in brick and mortar flower shops in the 90's and early 2000's, which sounds very odd to me and definitely gives away my age 😁

Anyway, I thought they were boring and basic and thoughtless. Men would come in all the time and ask for the standard "dozen roses with babies breath". And Valentine's Day? Don't even get me started!!

I have to say though...I'm growing fonder by the day. There are so many incredible varieties and I think back in the day we only ever had the "norm", what was the cheapest, and what every other flower shop had to offer. That's what I love about being a studio florist. It's up to me to make decisions on what types of flowers I put out into the world. What will tell your story, and your story matters to me, and it's anything BUT basic!!
