I get to enjoy their happy face before they're tall enough to be cut and sold.

20' sweet pea bed will be finished today. Thank you Jesus. I'm also thankful to repurpose the joist from our deck that got smashed in the fall.

Might not be the prettiest, and won't last as long as I'd like- but hey, dem sweet peas will be BANGING!!!!!

Turns out lifting wet dirt 2' off the ground is harder than I thought. Good thing I've been weight lifting the last few months 😂

Lipstick on a pig

5 years later, my dreams of turning this crappy old shed into a studio are finally coming true.

I've got one month to dress her up before the season is in full swing. After all these years of selling flowers out of my garage, I'm so excited to have a space all my own😭

I opened my gigantic composter this week.

Here's a piece of floral foam from the days when I didn't know how bad it is for the environment. It's been in the middle of the composter for 5 years!!!!

So much has changed in that time and it is nice to have a little reminder why I made the leap to sustainable floristry.

I will not use floral foam and have shifted my design work to be seasonal, just like my flowers.

Other for my subscribers and previous commitments, I'll be taking a mental health break from my business.

Growing cut flowers and sharing bouquets with others is what makes my heart sing, but I cannot ignore my current state of duress.

For almost ten years, I've found refuge in the garden and it has always been a place of peace. I know that it will continue to be that for me, but feeling like I am dropping the ball in both my life and business is overwhelming me at this time.

Hopefully the break is very temporary and I can hop right back in feeling supported and healthy.

In the last days of month, I hope honesty in my struggles can shine a light on the "secret" lives of those who suffer from mental illness.

Today is my 35th birthday 🥳 so I thought I'd share a random about me! I usually celebrate my birthday for a month, but this year I'm taking it easy.

🥖 I love to eat, especially if I don't have to cook or do the dishes - cheesesteaks, tacos, pizza, pasta
🏁 When I grow up, I want to be a rally car driver - but I've never had a speeding ticket
🕵️‍♀️ I'm a plant encyclopedia. I usually know the binomial nomenclature and probably the family a plant belongs to. If I don't know one, I won't rest until it's ID'd
🫣 I'm scared of the dark and heights
🛁 I only take baths
🐇 Bunnies are my favorite creature, but I've been on creature case since I was a little kid.
🙉 I hate talking on the phone and when it rings I have a panic attack every time (terrible thing for a small business)
🧡 My favorite color is orange
🔑 I struggle with losing my things - keys, wallet, phone
👫👯‍♀️🕴️ Of all the things I've grown, I'm most proud of my family. I especially love my husband, who makes it all possible 🫂👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

I will talk about plants with anyone who will listen. I work all winter for the flowers so I can share them with my neighbors.

This was my first time being the subject of professional photography and I'm so thankful for it!

Honestly there is no smell on earth like. It's so distinctive and so intoxicating.

With the ability to change its flowering time, nectar composition, and call birds to its aid, it's one of the coolest plants.
