Hi friends! It’s been a while since I introduced myself and with so many new faces, it’s time! 🫶🏻

I’m Emily, the heart and creative mind behind Something Borrowed. We are family run and operated, specializing in custom wedding details that you can’t find anywhere else. From your save-the-dates and invitations that set the tone, to full-scale installations that become the centerpiece of your wedding day, and all the meaningful moments in between, we work with you to create a cohesive, stunning design — while making the entire process seamless and hands-off for you.

Our full-service approach means we’re often involved early, most couples booking us alongside their photographer and venue, to help shape your overall wedding design.

The real magic happens the week of your wedding, when every piece is handmade with care and precision before our team handles everything from setup to breakdown, so you can focus on enjoying your special day while we take care of the rest.

As we complete our 4th wedding season and prepare for our 5th, we’ve grown immensely, expanding our services to wedding invitations and fully branded wedding weekend experiences.

When I’m not immersed in designing for my couples, I’m a wife to Derek (also known as my in-house handyman and builder of all the things) and a mom to two wonderful kiddos (7 and 5). Our home is also filled with love from our fur babies, Tessa and Maverick, who keep things lively around here. 🐾 I’m also deep into a health journey, closing in on close to 100 pounds gone in the past year and feeling every new lease on life possible. 🥹

Running this business allows me to be hands-on with my designs while keeping our family life front and center, something I’m endlessly grateful for. Statement moments are always a yes for us 🖤

K+R envisioned a sleek black backdrop with lush baby’s breath at the center, and on the big day, we teamed up with to make it happen. We had so much extra that we ended up draping it from the top corner to the bottom, and honestly, it became one of my favorite designs ever.

What I loved most about working with K+R was the trust they placed in me. When it came time to add more florals and extend the design beyond the original plan, I didn’t hesitate, knowing it would turn out stunning—and knowing they’d love it too.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with being more hands-on as a couple (it’s your day, after all!), but sometimes leaving room for creative freedom can take things to the next level. When you allow your vendors to bring their expertise and vision to life, it often leads to results that go beyond what you imagined. It’s those unexpected, magical moments that truly make your day one-of-a-kind.

C+K welcomed their guest for the weekend with a jute bag filled with all kinds of Rhode Island goodies, complete with a card stock tag we designed that featured their custom crest and a sweet message from the happy couple.

From their custom invitation suite to the day of design, we worked closely with to curate a soft palette of blue, white and yellow and pull in the watercolor elements of Lake Sunapee (illustrated by my go to gal ) to create a cohesive look that you can feel.
