Looking for an individual fluent in English and Gujarati to pre-interview family members in advance of a family reunion. From these pre-interviews, you will create a script which will be recorded on-site during the reunion for each family. In the script, you will get the families to convey the important parts of their family life, what life was like growing up, how they came to live where they do today, how they met their spouse, and other key family events in their lives. As the interviewer, you will be part of the video and will be asking the family questions and keeping the conversation flowing. A good on-screen personality is required.

The recorded videos will be professional recorded by a 3rd party and will be provided to the families for future generations.

Pre-interviews will occur in January – July, 2022 and the on-site interviews will occur in August 2022 in Michigan at a family reunion. All family members are of Gujarati descent and so the ability to relate to the families and speak the language for elders who are more comfortable in Gujarati is essential.

You will work closely with a genealogist to understand the family trees and gather other pertinent information such as birth certificates, family videos and related materials to be used in the final video production.

The position can primarily be done remotely part-time in the evenings and weekends. On-site work in metro Detroit during the reunion in the 1st week August, 2022 is required to interview families.
