We couldn't let this month end without celebrating and honoring all of those in the Norwich community who have a disability and continue to show up, support, love, care for, and build up this incredible community! Thank you for all that you do!

July marks when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law protecting the rights of people with disabilities from discrimination and promoting inclusivity.

There are many types of disabilities, some visible and some invisible so always remember to be compassionate to people around you because you never know what they are going through!

Join us at the Peruvian Festival on July 28th. We will raise the Peru Flag at 2pm at 100 Broadway in Norwich, CT and then head down the street to 100 Chelsea Harbor Drive for the festival from 3pm-7pm!

Can’t wait to celebrate the Cape Verdean community this weekend. Starting on Friday we are raising the flag at City Hall at 4:30pm. Later that Friday at 8pm there is a dinner at the Lead Moasic Community Center. Then on Sunday at Howard T Brown park is the festival from 1-7!

The Haitian Flag Day Ceremony and the Festival afterwards was so much fun and awesome to be a part of! I am so thankful that I have the pleasure and the honor of celebrating alongside so many incredible communities of people. The Haitian community has been in the city of Norwich for many, many years and it’s exciting to see how they have dedicated themselves to uplifting Norwich and are sharing their culture with those around them. 🇭🇹 🇭🇹 🇭🇹

Hi everyone! Tonight at 5pm at Foundry66 we will be hosting a community informational about the tactical urbanism demonstration we will be conducting. This project will transform the crosswalks by Cliff Street and the Otis Library into "Book Spine" themed crosswalks. The Chelsea Mobility Study conducted last year stated that we should try out some of the findings in a short-term, low-cost, and scalable way. This project allows us to create more pedestrian space and create a visual cue for vehicles and pedestrians that will be driving/walking/biking by the library.
We will be sharing the details on the project and would love to have you join us tonight at 5pm at Foundry66.

Congratulations Greece! Yesterday we celebrated Greece, a country that became independent in 1821! How wonderful that over 200 years later we can still celebrate this incredible event alongside our extraordinary Greek community in Norwich. Thank you for making this awesome city what it is today!

The Norwich Area Interfaith Association invites you to a candlelight Vigil for Peace and Reconciliation. Today at 6pm the vigil will be held in the David Ruggles Courtyard in front of the Norwich City Hall.

There are wars and hate throughout the world, and many members of our community are hurting. We ask you to join as we call for peace, unity and reconciliation for the world, as we honor all the innocent lives lost on all sides. We invite you to stand in solidarity together as peoples of Norwich, united as one, and share prayers, readings and thoughts to bring unity and peace. We will light candles, and share songs of peace to signify the light of unity illuminating our diverse city of Norwich and, ultimately, the world.
