Just as the seasons inform my design work, they shape the workshops I offer. This month and next, I'm looking forward to leading two classes that honor the fall.

🍂 Saturday, September 27th, 2-4pm: Woodland Wreath workshop. This hands-on class covers creating a moss wreath base and applying a collection of gathered elements along with dried flowers to give you a wreath you can enjoy for many months.

🍂 Saturday, October 25th, 2-4pm: Botanical Mask workshop. This class explores using flowers, foliage, and other elements of nature to create a botanical mask.

Both classes are offered at The Studio at Bowood Farms. You can read more about each offering and sign up on the Bowood website: https://bowoodfarms.com/collections/the-studio

Feel free to comment below or message me with any workshop questions you may have. I hope to see you there!

Playing with color and texture are two of my favorite things when it comes to bouquet design.

In my opinion, these are what make a bouquet standout. It doesn't matter if it's roses or zinnias; if the colors don't work together, the design falls flat.

All these beautiful blooms were locally grown (why, of course):

I’ve always held a deep-seated belief that flowers can bring people together, and this is especially true for weddings. I’m always so incredibly honored when people trust me to create something special for their big day.

What I love about flowers is the chance they provide to add memorable details in the most unexpected spaces. I’ve had the privilege of creating floral arrangements for all kinds of weddings—from the traditional to the whimsical—and I've discovered that many people overlook spaces that are perfect for additional wedding day flowers.

Our latest Floral Note is live, and it's all about flowers in unexpected places. https://www.hareandbearco.com/floral-notes/wedding-floral-the-5-most-overlooked-spaces-for-flowers

Let's talk transitioning ceremony florals to the reception.

I love this because it's an opportunity to reimagine pieces. For this particular wedding, the aisle pieces became points of interest in the seating areas throughout the reception venue. The urns were placed next to the seating chart and dessert table.

For these transitions to work, though, it takes an understanding of the space, time, and a quality team. It also takes someone who remains calm and has the ability to pivot if the situation changes. It takes creative vision.

Our 2026 books are open, and I'd love to bring my creative vision to your special day. Inquire at https://www.hareandbearco.com/weddings.

When I first started Hare and Bear Co., I had floral knowledge, but my overall industry knowledge lagged. I'd periodically get asked to trade services for exposure. As a young business, I accepted these invitations with high hopes but quickly learned trading services in the floral industry isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Over the years, I've learned that trading services might seem like a mutually beneficial arrangement, but if you don't choose carefully, you could end up investing in materials that never justify the returns. Not to mention the other costs these arrangements come with, such as eating up your time, creativity, and effort—all of which aren't adequately compensated.

In my latest Floral Note, I'm unpacking why trading services can hurt your business and how to avoid that.

Cake decorations good enough to eat.

For Hannah's and Andy's wedding cake, I created a design using all locally-grown, edible flowers: snapdragons, nigella (love-in-a-mist), and stock.

The larger piece is wired onto a hair comb for easy application and individual stems were simply placed onto the cake.

"Excited" would be an understatement to describe how I felt viewing Hannah's and Andy's wedding day gallery. Jacoby captured each moment so beautifully.

Since I am limited on how much I can share , and there's so many amazing photos, I will be sharing A LOT from this day.

Thank you to the fantastic team who helped me make this design possible: , , , and Tatiana .

There’s a misconception that locally-grown flowers = wildflowers. Wildflowers are quite beautiful. They’re flowers that naturally grow without having been cultivated by human hands. Some are ethereal. Some quite hardy. Often these plants are native to a region, but they can be introduced. You may think that’s the only type of “local” flowers you have access to, but if you stroll through your local farmer’s market, you’ll see a wide variety of flowers.

The truth is locally grown flowers give you the chance to fill your home with unique and beautiful flowers - godetia, gooseneck loosestrife, specialty daffodils, dinnerplate dahlias, Madame butterfly snapdragons, fritillaria, allium; just to name a few.

Our June 'Floral Note' is debunking a few myths surrounding local flowers. Head to the link in our profile to read more.

Welcome summer with a flower crown workshop at Perennial this Saturday!

🌸 In our opinion, a St. Louis summer is even better with a flower crown. 🌸

Join us this weekend for a hands-on workshop led by Amy Bunge of Hareandbearco, where you’ll create your very own fresh, lush flower crown using seasonal flowers, herbs, and foliage.
Rock your crown at the Missouri Botanical Garden's Whitaker Music Festival, St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, The Muny, Pride, and beyond. Your flower crown will be the perfect summer accessory, and an eco-friendly one, too!

In this class, you’ll learn:
✨ Floral arrangement & design
✨ How to choose sustainable, native flowers & foliage
✨ Storing and drying techniques to keep your crown fresh

There are still a few spots left—grab yours at the link in our bio.
Saturday, June 21 | 10am–12pm

I began Hare and Bear Co. out of a deep-seeded belief that flowers can bring people together. Whether it's in the growing, the enjoying, or the creating, flowers play a role in many people's lives. The fact that I can share that with you on some level, be it through a workshop, a bouquet delivery, wedding flowers, or just talking about my garden, is a privilege I don't take lightly.
Hare and Bear Co. has never only been about flowers. We're about people and community. So, if you see me sharing and talking about more than flowers on here, it's because I'm more than flowers. Just as I believe there's space for all of us in floristry, I believe there's space for all of us in this country.
Small businesses are part of a community, and I know I wouldn't be where I am without that community. I will continue to share about issues and events that are important because I care.
