How the party was started
Sooooo, once upon a time I used to work retail, I sold shoes to be more specific. This was a job I started my second semester of college and went on for almost eight years. I held almost all the positions with the company, my last year there I also held the title of “mom!” I finally got the courage to quit and with the support of my hubby, I became a stay at home mom! So I quit less than a week before my son’s 1st birthday. During the last few weeks before his party I had been making all the decorations by hand, no cutting machine to help! Plus working 40+ hours and commuting 2 hours 5 days a week! One thing you may want to know is that I do my best under pressure and with the clock ticking! Everyone “loved” (so they said) his party! (BTW his birthday is in September) I think it turned out very cute with all the effort a first-time-working mommy could do! This motivated me even more! I don’t have a daughter but I do have a niece, and she’s kinda the reason I started decorating. Her birthday is in late October, so it was then when I bought my cutting machine. So if you go thru my albums you can see where my hand cut projects turned into machine cut projects. After her second birthday I was getting asked by friends to help them decorate for their children’s parties. One thing led to another and this is what I do now for clients! Those first few parties I had no inventory but little by little I have added to my collection! I love investing in my inventory! I think I have spent more money than I’ve made! LOL My garage isn’t a garage but my personal party storage warehouse. But the more inventory I have the better for my setups! My favorite parties are my kid’s because I now have 2 little boys plus 3 bonus kids (including my niece, which is the only girl!) My kid’s parties allow me to go above and beyond what I do for my clients! I love all the small details that go into them! With the help of close business friends (my Party Dream Team,) we all get to showcase our work together! So that’s my story about how the party got started! You want to know what’s the best party of the job- it’s the cake! JK It’s actually being able to be with my kids all week while watching them grow, something I missed out on the first year of my first born’s life. So thank you to all who support me by either hiring me to do a setup, make a t-shirt, some sort of decoration! I also thank you for hitting that “like” button or “share” button! I started out small but I’m working my way to the top!
