How are you all surviving Snowmageddon 2025?!
As a snow lover (seriously, I’m part polar bear 🐻‍❄️) this time has been challenging for me. It was around this time a year ago that I came home to my frantic boyfriend notifying me of a burst pipe in my workspace, and going downstairs to see a waterfall pouring from my ceiling. While I’ve taken steps the last two weeks to give myself an opportunity to recharge and be present in family time, and to still feel the wonder of the magical weather, it’s been a struggle to shake the constant feeling of anxiety that something bad was going to happen again. With temps continuing to stay below freezing, I’ve had to really dig into my bag of therapy tricks to take deep breaths, implement positive self talk, and self soothing, and remind myself that I’m in the hands of the Lord.
The constant worry has made it a little difficult to have a bright and ambitious outlook on the new year, but I didn’t want to completely miss the opportunity to change my outlook, and take a minute to sit in gratitude over the last year.
So here it is- last year was a doozy! It was ups and downs, wins and losses. To all of my amazing clients that make this wacky dream a reality, everyday- THANK YOU! A business is just a hobby without people to serve and YOU are the reason I do this. Keep posting and tagging me in your photos- it truly is so special to see your finished keepsakes on display in your homes and I can’t tell you how impactful it is to my morale!
To all of my upcoming brides of 2025: I can’t wait to serve you! I’m praying prosperity, love and ease for your big days and appreciate you sharing your love stories with me! See you soon!
If you’re considering having your special flowers saved, I still have room in my calendar and would love to talk about your big day!!!!
With Love, HAPPY 2025! 🎉
❤️ Miranda

As we draw to a close on this year,
I just want to take a minute to reflect. It’s been a busy year and it feels like it’s flown by! It’s been one of continued growth, set backs, adjustments, and a whole lot of hard work. I’d like to hope that I’m better than I was last year but know that self improvement is a journey that never stops and is often hard to quantify.
Next year I hope to continue growing and learning, fine tuning and adjusting, for myself, my clients, my family, and this little business that I’ve found passion in. With the utmost, biggest, most heartfelt- THANK YOU!: Thank you for coming along for the journey, for trusting me with your memories, for supporting me- as a person and a small business, and for your business! Wishing you all, along with your loved ones, a safe and blessed conclusion to 2024 and a big and bright 2025! ❤️❤️❤️

This beauty is a great example of how white flowers dry differently, depending on the species. Heck, all flowers will dry differently from one another depending on the species, and coloring. Just like people are all different, your flowers have their own unique makeup, and will dry in their own way. It’s important to remember that this process involves nature, and, try as we might, you can’t force nature.

Let’s talk about design proofs!
Design proofs are sent after your flowers are pulled from the drying gel and are ready to be cast. Proofs are sent for main pieces only- this means your square and hexagon shapes. Due to the nature of the molds for most of the add on pieces, it’s not possible to provide proofs on those items, but they do contain a small snapshot of the flowers from your bouquet!
Some do’s and don’t’s for the design process-
✅ DO let us know in advance if there are certain flowers that were special to you, that you’d like prioritized. Knowing this in advance helps us to make sure we pay attention to saving those during the drying process and helps to limit additional handling of your fragile, dried florals for additional designing.
❌ DON’T micromanage the design. While your preferences are prioritized and accommodated as much as physically possible, micromanaging of the design is not something that we allow. Examples of this would be requesting individual placement of specific, individual blooms. It’s important to keep in mind that this is a commissioned piece of art and that it is going to be reflective of the style that we offer- the style that made you pick us in the first place! Trust the process!
✅ DO consider upgrading your piece if there are more flowers available that can be included! This will allow you to have even more of your special blooms in your forever keepsakes!
✅ DO be mindful that this is a time consuming process and that timelines often flex based on the attention that your pieces may need! Some flowers take longer to dry than others and it’s important to remember, and be patient with 😊

Florist/Preservation Artist truth: working with one type of flower alone is hard! It takes a little extra creative power to fill gaps and make things look full. I’m so pleased with how these pieces turned out and love the way the blue shines in the resin! Hydrangea are such a happy, albeit fickle flower! As the name indicates? They are very fussy without water and will show you their displeasure, often coming to me in a droopy fashion, (their protest against dehydration no doubt!), but with a little gently care, they come back and lift their delicate heads for you!

We’re baaaack!
If you missed it, I’ve been out of the country for about 2 weeks. Italy was an absolute dream come true, and such a personal experience, being in the land that my family came from! Today is my first day back in the shop, so it’s going to take a little time to get my bearings again lol. I’ll be getting back to emails this week, so thank you for your patience as I get back to everyone!

Did you know that I also offer crosses? They’re kind of a “secret menu” item right now, but are always available upon request! I love this shape but especially love this mold for funeral or memorial pieces.
What do you think? Should I officially add it to my shop? Are there any other shapes you’d like to see added?

Pro tips for keeping your flowers beautiful for preservation:
- KEEP THEM IN WATER
We see this a lot among vendors that are handling your bouquet, like photographers and planners, and we get it! It’s a busy day and everyone is running around, but in order to keep your flowers as happy as possible, they need to stay in water! Your vendors truly care about you and your day, so if you know that you’re planning on having them preserved, just make@sure to let them know how, extra important, it is to keep them in water.
- TREAT WITH CARE
As said above, we get that there’s a lot of hustle and bustle on wedding day, but treat your flowers with as much care as possible! Instead of doing a bouquet toss with the flowers you’re going to have saved, opt for a separate, smaller, bouquet. Rough handling can cause damage to the cellular walls of the petals that is only visible once submerged in resin. This is called bruising. Minimize the risk of transparent spots in your pieces by handling your flowers with care on your big day!
- DROP OFF ASAP
We always say that flowers save best when they’re fresh! By the time they make it to wedding day, the have already been off the stem for several days, in most cases. We always recommend dropping your flowers off to us within 48 hours of your event, if possible, in order to adding any more days on to their life cycle. Keep in mind that once they make it to us, they do still undergo a rehydration time frame as well to get them looking their very best before drying. This is also why we require orders to be set up prior to drop off: different pieces require different methods of drying, and when the clock is already ticking, we don’t want to waste time trying to go back and forth to figure out pieces. It’s quickest to receive your flowers and be able to go right to work! This is always why we recommend:
- SHIP EXPRESS
For all of our out of town girlies, that have to send their flowers to us- ship overnight! This ties in to the points above: We want to lessen the impact on your flowers- as far as rough handling, temperature shock, water loss, etc, to get them safely. Follow our shipping guide!

It may be fall (can’t tell me it’s not!), but it’s bright and sunny out here! Especially from the view of this ✨stunning ✨ 9” hexagon!
I’ve been busy busy over here, working on getting your beautiful keepsakes out, but somehow kinked my neck on Sunday and have been out of commission for the last couple of days. (Hooray for getting older! Lol 😆)
I’m getting back to emails as I can but appreciate your patience in the interim as I work on regaining the ability to turn my head 😂.
Just a reminder! 🚨
I will be out of the country from 10/6-10/18, so spots for the weekend of 10/6 are extremely limited, and I will not be able to accommodate last minute orders during that time frame! If you’ve been on the fence, I’d encourage you to book asap, before spots fill up! Have more questions? Head on over to the website to submit a contact form, and let’s chat!

Some important things to know about design proofs:
💐 Design proofs are an approximation. Things sit differently once anchored into resin. Sometimes there’s more room to add in a flower or two, sometimes it looks a little crowded and some need to be taken out. It’s not a guarantee that each and every piece will be placed exactly, but more of a preview of the overall style of the piece. Big flowers will still be in the middle, with smaller flowers filling in, just like your bouquet, and in the spray shape. 🙂

💐 I do not allow micromanaging of the design. Piggybacking off of the point above, things may change slightly once in resin. Additionally, this is a commissioned piece of art. While it is a service in the sense that the materials provided are being transformed, you are having a custom piece of art made- it’s going to have the artists creative “fingerprint”- that’s why you chose your artist: because you like their style! Furthermore- dried flowers are extremely fragile and brittle, additional handling can cause damage to your special flowers and impact the final piece.

💐 We give a 48 hour time frame to make sure orders aren’t held up on waiting for a reply, risking prolonged exposure to air and moisture. If a conversation is ongoing, we’ll continue to communicate, but if no response is received, you piece will be cast as shown.

💐 Just like always- your flowers are going to change! The thing about working with nature is that we have almost no say in how your flowers dry. If they are on the down-swing when we receive them, they may dry showing some brown. The color will change! The drying gel is sucking all of the moisture out of your blooms, accordingly, this is going to have an effect on the coloring. Keep in mind that they may also look different still, once in resin. For example, bruising is completely invisible to the naked eye until the blooms are in resin.

Your flowers are going to change color!
It’s just the nature of working with… well, Nature! Lol.
There are so many factors that come into play with how your flowers will come out of the drying gel, and how they do in the resin, including:
💐 How fresh they were when they got to me (which goes as far back to how fresh they were when they arrived at the florist),
💐 Time out of water during your big day,
💐 How much handling they had,
💐 How much they were jostled and bumped
💐 Particular species and subspecies of flower that they are, and numerous other niche circumstances that impact their overall health!

While some color outcomes can be predicted to some extent, just based on experience, we never guarantee the way your flowers are going to come out of the gel or do in the resin, because we can’t control nature! If you have concerns or want to get a reasonable expectation of the range that your flowers could come out, don’t hesitate to ask!
There are so many factors that weigh into this process as a whole, and the important thing to remember is to be flexible. Read our website and FAQs and familiarize yourself with potential outcomes and delays! This will ease the stress on your end, and ours! ☺️
Thinking of having your flowers saved? There’s still time to book! SPACES ARE LIMITED FOR OCTOBER, so get those dates saved!

Lavender Ducky Designs came about in early 2019 when I, Miranda, was looking for beautifully curated gifts for my bridal party, but having a hard time finding something that was truly me, without costing a fortune to customize.
