No editing here, just natural lighting!
Here’s the real truth- your flowers will change colors while drying!
White flowers will often turn ivory or even yellow, depending on the species. Reds take on a much darker hue, purples can become maroon, deep plum or even take on a greenish tint around the stem. It can often be difficult to predict and depends on so many things like:
💜 freshness of the flowers
💜 species
💜 drying technique used
💜 moisture content/humidity
And more!
While it’s important to remember that we work with nature and can’t predict the future, if you have questions/concerns about the way your flowers MAY look after drying, reach out to us with those questions!
Still taking bookings for this year! Don’t miss your chance on having your precious memories saved!

Did you know that your air dried blooms can still be saved??? 💐
This bouquet came to us partially air dried, a couple of weeks after the bride’s big day!
We carefully placed the florals into gel to help continue the drying process and preserve a little more of the color- as air drying will often diminish the coloring more than drying in gel, and then were able to cast these beauties for our bride to enjoy forever!
Have a bouquet that’s just sitting around, collecting dust? Don’t risk them decaying, or getting damaged- Protect your precious memories and have them cast in resin!
Message us to ask how!

Know what we love?!
Seeing where your forever keepsakes end up!
Between: Taking your special blooms, nurturing them through the drying process, through recreating your bouquet, carefully encapsulating them in layers of resin, meticulously sanding, buffing and polishing out defects, lovingly packaging them up to head off to you, it’s no surprise that we get a little emotionally invested. Kind of like when you foster a puppy, we put some much time and heart into your pieces, we can’t help but wonder where they are now, and wonder how you’re enjoying them!
So! Whenever you share their final places in your homes with us, it truly makes our day and makes our hearts sing!
When you share, please feel free to tag us so we can share your joy in their display! ❤️

How many pieces can my bouquet make?
It’s a question we get a lot. The answer: several! (Usually)
The truth is that it depends on the size of your bouquet. Most “standard” size bridal bouquets will accommodate several items. Especially when you consider that add ons can usually only utilize parts of large flowers.
Each bouquet is different though and if you have big dreams but are concerned about them being possible, it’s best to reach out so we can ask more questions to give better advice!

✨Product spotlight! ✨
This is the small ring holder. As you can see, it features beautiful little facets that capture the light on sunny days, without having too large of a footprint. While small, these little lovelies are perfect for fitting small petals, filler flowers, and very small florals from your special blooms. We love these for casual places in your home, like near your bonus bathroom sink or guest shower for storing your rings without taking up much space. These are also a popular gift! Which is why we offer a special bundle of them at a discounted rate!

Happy MLK day/ Inauguration Day!
As we all reflect today on the coming years and what’s important to our families and us, whether with eager anticipation, concern, or a mix of both, I’d like to bring it back to what binds us all together: we all do our best everyday and we all matter. Leaders will come and go, each making their mark on history, but it’s everyday people like you and me, that have the power to make a real impact on each other’s lives. Never forget that people are people, regardless of our differences and that it’s our responsibility everyday to look out for one another, to care for one another and to not allow the things that make us unique, to divide us.
We’re so lucky to live in a country that celebrates each of us and gives us the freedom to pursue our beliefs, our convictions and our dreams!
I’m so blessed to be in it, with all of you and enjoy hearing your points of view, with respect, even if they differ from mine.
Collaboration and understanding is the only way we achieve progress, and it starts with all of us. Lead by example, with kindness, consideration and compassion; Disagree with respect and not ill will; Expand your point of view by being willing to learn and listen, and never let these things truly divide us.
As we move forward today with new leadership, I pray blessings, prosperity, and growth, for each of you, your families, communities, and for this amazing country as a whole, that I love so dearly (as I’m sure you all do too!)
With love,
❤️

This order was so special to create! The bride had one piece made with her wedding flowers (the all white piece) and the other made with flowers to memorialize her mother in law (photo piece). Making pieces that are so sentimental to you is the best part of what we do and makes the process so rewarding!
Have special memories that you’d like saved?! Shoot us a DM for more info!

How are you all surviving Snowmageddon 2025?!
As a snow lover (seriously, I’m part polar bear 🐻‍❄️) this time has been challenging for me. It was around this time a year ago that I came home to my frantic boyfriend notifying me of a burst pipe in my workspace, and going downstairs to see a waterfall pouring from my ceiling. While I’ve taken steps the last two weeks to give myself an opportunity to recharge and be present in family time, and to still feel the wonder of the magical weather, it’s been a struggle to shake the constant feeling of anxiety that something bad was going to happen again. With temps continuing to stay below freezing, I’ve had to really dig into my bag of therapy tricks to take deep breaths, implement positive self talk, and self soothing, and remind myself that I’m in the hands of the Lord.
The constant worry has made it a little difficult to have a bright and ambitious outlook on the new year, but I didn’t want to completely miss the opportunity to change my outlook, and take a minute to sit in gratitude over the last year.
So here it is- last year was a doozy! It was ups and downs, wins and losses. To all of my amazing clients that make this wacky dream a reality, everyday- THANK YOU! A business is just a hobby without people to serve and YOU are the reason I do this. Keep posting and tagging me in your photos- it truly is so special to see your finished keepsakes on display in your homes and I can’t tell you how impactful it is to my morale!
To all of my upcoming brides of 2025: I can’t wait to serve you! I’m praying prosperity, love and ease for your big days and appreciate you sharing your love stories with me! See you soon!
If you’re considering having your special flowers saved, I still have room in my calendar and would love to talk about your big day!!!!
With Love, HAPPY 2025! 🎉
❤️ Miranda

As we draw to a close on this year,
I just want to take a minute to reflect. It’s been a busy year and it feels like it’s flown by! It’s been one of continued growth, set backs, adjustments, and a whole lot of hard work. I’d like to hope that I’m better than I was last year but know that self improvement is a journey that never stops and is often hard to quantify.
Next year I hope to continue growing and learning, fine tuning and adjusting, for myself, my clients, my family, and this little business that I’ve found passion in. With the utmost, biggest, most heartfelt- THANK YOU!: Thank you for coming along for the journey, for trusting me with your memories, for supporting me- as a person and a small business, and for your business! Wishing you all, along with your loved ones, a safe and blessed conclusion to 2024 and a big and bright 2025! ❤️❤️❤️

This beauty is a great example of how white flowers dry differently, depending on the species. Heck, all flowers will dry differently from one another depending on the species, and coloring. Just like people are all different, your flowers have their own unique makeup, and will dry in their own way. It’s important to remember that this process involves nature, and, try as we might, you can’t force nature.

Let’s talk about design proofs!
Design proofs are sent after your flowers are pulled from the drying gel and are ready to be cast. Proofs are sent for main pieces only- this means your square and hexagon shapes. Due to the nature of the molds for most of the add on pieces, it’s not possible to provide proofs on those items, but they do contain a small snapshot of the flowers from your bouquet!
Some do’s and don’t’s for the design process-
✅ DO let us know in advance if there are certain flowers that were special to you, that you’d like prioritized. Knowing this in advance helps us to make sure we pay attention to saving those during the drying process and helps to limit additional handling of your fragile, dried florals for additional designing.
❌ DON’T micromanage the design. While your preferences are prioritized and accommodated as much as physically possible, micromanaging of the design is not something that we allow. Examples of this would be requesting individual placement of specific, individual blooms. It’s important to keep in mind that this is a commissioned piece of art and that it is going to be reflective of the style that we offer- the style that made you pick us in the first place! Trust the process!
✅ DO consider upgrading your piece if there are more flowers available that can be included! This will allow you to have even more of your special blooms in your forever keepsakes!
✅ DO be mindful that this is a time consuming process and that timelines often flex based on the attention that your pieces may need! Some flowers take longer to dry than others and it’s important to remember, and be patient with 😊

Florist/Preservation Artist truth: working with one type of flower alone is hard! It takes a little extra creative power to fill gaps and make things look full. I’m so pleased with how these pieces turned out and love the way the blue shines in the resin! Hydrangea are such a happy, albeit fickle flower! As the name indicates? They are very fussy without water and will show you their displeasure, often coming to me in a droopy fashion, (their protest against dehydration no doubt!), but with a little gently care, they come back and lift their delicate heads for you!

We’re baaaack!
If you missed it, I’ve been out of the country for about 2 weeks. Italy was an absolute dream come true, and such a personal experience, being in the land that my family came from! Today is my first day back in the shop, so it’s going to take a little time to get my bearings again lol. I’ll be getting back to emails this week, so thank you for your patience as I get back to everyone!

Did you know that I also offer crosses? They’re kind of a “secret menu” item right now, but are always available upon request! I love this shape but especially love this mold for funeral or memorial pieces.
What do you think? Should I officially add it to my shop? Are there any other shapes you’d like to see added?

Gifting Done Beautifully

Lavender Ducky Designs came about in early 2019 when I, Miranda, was looking for beautifully curated gifts for my bridal party, but having a hard time finding something that was truly me, without costing a fortune to customize. A little, “I’ll just do it myself” determination and some creativity, a lot of networking and growing, and here we are now: devoted to helping clients curate the perfect gifts that are heartfelt and reflective of their personality and style.

Welcome.
