Hello to our Earth Day Festival Community,

As you all know very well, we are unfortunately still dealing with the effects of the pandemic one year later. Due to our current status in Tier and restrictions related to public gatherings, our annual Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival, scheduled for April 24, 2021 at The Village at Squaw Valley has been officially canceled.

We look forward to getting back on track and holding a successful community Earth Day event next spring. Please save the date for our North Shore event to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

In good news, we wanted to share some awesome local Earth Day related activities happening this year!

The Citizens Climate Lobby and the Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS) will be hosting an Earth Day Climate Stripes exhibition in Village at Squaw Valley, April 21 - 25, 2021. The exhibit will feature a series of Climate Stripes displays created by the students at SELS along with information about the global, regional and local effects of climate change.

The Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP) is planning to host an in-person, covid friendly Earth Day Event in Truckee. More details and information to come.

In addition, the South Lake Tahoe Earth Day Committee is creating themed days for Earth Week with activities for students and community members to participate in. More information and details to come.
