FRAME CARE EDUCATION🫶🏽

Do you notice the difference between these two frames and the way the blooms have changed color over time? These are part of Sarah’s wedding blooms that were framed two years ago! We’ve noticed something so interesting about the way each frame was cared for and the consequence of it.

The LEFT frame you can notice that some of the whites have browned and the purples aren’t as vibrant. This frame was left in the trunk of Sarah’s car for over a month during a move, while the frame on the RIGHT was kept indoors during that same time period.

These are the SAME blooms from the SAME wedding day and because of the exposure to heat the one frame discolored.

Since being hung in her office the blooms have stayed consistent and fade slightly more naturally (as expected).

“I LOVE my frames and the color change does not bother me. It’s a natural part of the way art changes over time, but so interesting that because of the way they were cared for there is such a distinct difference” -Sarah

So… keep your frames out of trapped heat (which means leaving them in a box for too long or in a car for too long) and care for them by leaving them out of direct sunlight!!! And note that all blooms do fade over time (especially whites and pastels) it’s a beautiful part of the natural process of fine art.
