As a woman and a mother…….it has literally made me feel that AMERICA is no longer a safe place. As a American I should feel that my country is a safe place. That my child can go to school and not feel like it might be her last day on this earth!

Schools shouldn’t have to practice INTRUDER DRILLS! School should be a place to LEARN!

I pray for all of the families effected by this tragedy! I pray that our country finally helps those who are struggling mentally. How many more times does this need to happen before we put something in place.

For the men and women who swore to protect and serve yet allowed this man for 40 MINUTES to do this instead of storming the school may god have mercy! YOU ARE TRAINED!! ITS YOUR JOB! Parents shouldn’t have to sit and hear what they did!

Today I fight the urge to keep my child home and safe in my arms.

2022 I have seen what I want from you……
✨I have decided to take on 10 WEDDINGS ONLY for 2022✨

Now that doesn’t mean my associates won’t be available. Me personally won’t be doing more then 10.

This decision came with a heavy heart, after this year I need to focus on my mental health and my family.

Stephanie Flores Photography will still be going just with associates shooting the engagement sessions and the weddings.

I will only take on 15 engagement sessions for the year as well.

I was spread to thin this year and my body and my mind paid the price. I can’t expect to care of these two if I’m not well myself.

Don’t worry though I’m still going to be talking and around YOU CANT GET RID OF ME THAT FAST!!

Yesterday I was able to witness the love not only between two people but between two families coming together. and her now husband Michael has such a gorgeous intimate wedding.

Seeing the love that their family shared for both of them was insane. They had this gorgeous picnic table style dinner, great Mexican food and of course the best playlist (it’s Brittney Bitch!)

Catie and Michael thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your day! Though it was a hot one you couldn’t tell because of how cool you both were before, during and after.

I wish you both nothing but happiness and lots of love!! I hope you have so much fun on your next adventure!!

Rona Rona Rona this girl has taught me so much. The most important lesson I have learned from her this year though…..is if I don’t stop and take a moment for myself and my mental health I won’t be worth squat.

I’ve captured over 25 weddings and it’s August 8th…….like wow! Usually 25 weddings is for the whole year. Thanks to Rona it’s doubled, I’m super blessed to have that.

At the same time though it puts a lot of pressure on us small businesses. This weekend I took a much needed break from everything and took my family to the fair. I had my partner take a couple photos for me since I don’t have any family pictures. My daughter is almost 5 and we yet to really have any good family pictures that’s not from a cell phone.

It’s really hard to switch my brain off from work and just focus on what’s in front of me. Being a small business owner Im always afraid to set those boundaries. What if someone calls me? What if someone gets upset because I said I was booked. Like these things really effect me.

Then I remember I’m only human, I can’t be a benefit to someone if I’m ill. I can’t capture someone’s day and give them my all if I’m burnt out.

I’ve been witnessing a lot of photographers in my circle tell me how they want to give up. Honestly that’s been me more then once this year. I wanted to quit, wanted to throw everything I’ve work so damn hard for away. All because I’ve been burned out. All because I can’t keep up with the load I have on my plate.

So much that I decided that I was going to step back and have others work with me so I could get my sanity back. I hired associates to work for me and I hired a editor to edit for me.

Having these new things in place is going to save me from what I’m feeling now. But most importantly it’s going to allow me to focus and give me all to the clients. I can’t give my all if there’s nothing for me to give.

Engagements and weddings are probably one of my favorite things to capture.

This session was no different Sammi and Josh are getting married this year. We had the pleasure of capturing their engagement session in Ojai.

They were so nervous but from the get go they were having such a blast. I love being able to bring out the true moments in your relationship whether you have done this a million times or if this is your first time.

Sammi brought this gorgeous jacket she’s wearing for their wedding day. So of course you know we had to take some fire images for her.

Josh was cracking us up with his shoe choices. Wish we would have got some shots with his crocadilies!!

Don’t be afraid to be yourself, as your photographer I want you to feel comfortable and yourself. I’m just here to capture some moments that you’ll cherish forever!!

I’m sure your all aware of how everyone was effected by Covid. People lost their jobs, loved ones, and some even their businesses.

I almost lost everything…..due to Covid being a small business and not prepared for something that NO ONE saw coming hit hard.

I almost gave up my dream of being a wedding photographer because for a year I didn’t have anything on the books. Everything was put on hold or moved or just cancelled.

2021 I thought was going to be a great year and it was for the weddings I booked already. Those were already paid, nothing new was coming in. I have photographed so far 20 weddings this year and it’s only July. That’s so crazy for me to say that!

I usually only take on 30 weddings since I’m by myself. 30 weddings is a lot to do alone. This year I’m doing 40 weddings and only 1 is with a associate.

That’s why I decided to take a step back and hire associates to shoot my weddings. You get the same experience, same energy, I’ll be editing your wedding gallery, just my associates will be shooting them.

Your like but how do I know who’s going to shoot my wedding. From the moment you inquire I’ll share with you galleries, you’ll zoom with them to see if your a fit. They’ll do your engagement photos so you can see them in action.

From the moment you inquire till the moment your gallery is delivered I’ll be with you and so will they.

This is helping me to stay in the game and still offer the best experience possible. I want to be present and be there for everyone. Photographer burn out is so real! I need my sanity as much as I need my business. Just think of it like target you don’t see the CEO but your getting great service.

Growing up you always dream about your wedding. What’s it going to look like, what kind of outfit you’ll wear. What your future significant other will look like. But do you ever stop and look at your life when we finally get there?

Being a wedding photographer I get to capture love for a living. I get to hear stories of how people met, how they got engaged, why they choose this venue or date. All of these little details make for your story. Everything happens for a reason, a lot of us don’t think that way but it’s true.

My cousin Eddie and his soon to be wife are getting married this year. As we were walking and talking I got to know her more. I got to see first hand why my cousin chose her.

Though Covid threw a wrench in the original plans Alexis and Victor made the best. They choose to have close family and friends join them in Las Vegas.

Now this wedding isn’t your typical “Vegas” wedding. They had a gorgeous venue with a view of a lake. Once we got to the venue I forgot we were in Las Vegas.

The bridal portrait location was just this amazing gorgeous Mountain View near Red Rock Canyon. Now if you love Vegas but love the look of mountains and trails this is your spot.

I’m so happy for Alexis and Victor on their wedding day. Thank you again for having me and my assistant out for your wedding day.

I’m blessed I’m able to have amazing clients like you guys! Can’t wait to share more of this gorgeous wedding.

Diana & Steven chose a beautiful venue at the Botanical Gardens in Ventura, Ca. They had their closest family and friends witness they’re ceremony.

It was so awesome to witness the love between them two.

Went down to Ventura City Hall and got some amazing shots of them. I can’t wait to continue to watch their family grow!!

Life is finally starting to feel normal again. Being with clients and having fun, laughing cracking up is what I missed the most. Emmanuel and Daisy had me cracking up on their engagement session.

Once I set the speaker up and started shooting Emmanuel’s song came on and he restrained so much.....He was so ready to drop it like it’s hot.

Daisy looked so beautiful with her dress, we had to hike through some nature but she was a trooper.

Engagement photos I always tell my couples is a expression of your love. Its the start to your wedding journey. These two are set to be married next month.....and I can’t wait to party with these two!!

Yesterday’s wedding was such a dream and breathe of fresh air. Josh and Shelia have been together for over 12 years. Dated in high school and stepped away and married others. They came back to each other and now are living their happily ever after.

They decided while on vacation to elope with their kiddos by their side. This family had me laughing the whole time! They choose the beautiful city of Solvang, California for their elopement and the beautiful hotel Wine Valley Inn where they we’re staying for the location.

Having been to Solvang over 1000 times I’ve been to this hotel and after yesterday I don’t see how I couldn’t go back. Shelia and Joe had their ceremony officiated by Shelia’s son Aj. It was such a honor to witness this union everyone in their family played a part. Mariah Joe’s daughter was his best gal, Shelby Shelia’s daughter was her maid of honor.

You could just see how loved these two were by their kids and how happy they were to be a family finally. Wait for some more cause we walked the streets of Solvang together and they got some ice cream since there was no wedding cake. But seriously can we make Monday weddings a thing cause I’m here for it!

This was my first wedding of the year....

I have taken two months off of work after losing 3 family members back to back. I couldn’t focus on work at the moment. I didn’t know how I was going to act when this date was coming up so fast.

Well thanks to my amazing team, we killed it! I walked away with so much inspiration and love for what I still continue to do through out life.

I wanted to quit to be honest, I let the darkness come and take over my brain and my body. I had a client who I took maternity photos of on Valentine’s Day ask two days later when they would be ready. This was the day I lost him, just hours before that message. After asking for some time to grieve since I’m a one woman show and honestly needed that time. She messaged me a week later, calling me unprofessional.

Human, business owner, I don’t know how to navigate through something I have never had to deal with. It hurt me because I pride myself on learning from mistakes but I don’t feel like a made one this time. I understand that we have expectations, and we’re excited but we also have to remember we are all human.

We all need to understand that we all need time, especially now that we’re all going through this. Have compassion, have empathy and have understanding that life happens and we need to be there for each other.

I love hearing we're awkward in front of the camera! 😳

I'll tell you a secret so am I! I have found that having fun and forgetting a camera is there helps. When it comes to capturing your images I do just that. I make everything fun, we play some cute games and I capture true intimate moments.

Why settle for the same ol poses when instead you can be making memories.

4 years ago I went into labor 6 weeks early! You decided you no longer wanted to wait to meet me and daddy.

It’s been 4 years of watching you grow, watching you find yourself. Watching you be so compassionate and empathetic to others, always trying to help wherever you can!

I’ve watched you become this little human that just keeps amazing me! Today I’m blessed to say I’m so proud of how your growing how your adapting to this world.
