The Rosedale Aerie in Overland Park rolled out the red carpet for me. My first drink was on the house. They also presented us with a tag and gave me a chip for my next visit. It's nice to be treated like family when your away from home.

This year's Presidential Choice Annual Donation was $8,500 presented to the Ozark and Nixa Senior Centers. The Senior Centers do so much and it was an honor to donate to an organization that shares our vision of 'People helping people. '

The benefit for the Ozark and Nixa Senior Center raised over $7,700. Thank you to everyone who helped put this together.

Prayers for the sick. One of our members, Jimmy Hammons was bit on the foot by a spider. He went to surgery yesterday with the expectation of losing part of his foot or leg. However, the surgeon was able to save his foot. Let us all keep Jimmy and his family in our thoughts and prayers as he recovers.

Prior to the meeting, speak with the other member or members of the committee and elect a chair person. During the meeting, we will discuss the duties and purpose of each committee in more detail.

For more than a century, the second Sunday in May has been set aside to honor mothers everywhere - and it all started with a push from the Fraternal Order of Eagles. On February 7, 1904, Fraternal Order of Eagles Past Grand Worthy President Frank E. Hering made a public plea to recognize mother's everywhere. A decade later, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation making Mother’s Day a reality.

The achievement remains one of the most significant milestones in the history of the organization. From preparing brunch to buying cards and flowers, the spirit of Hering and the F.O.E. lives on through our actions each Mother’s Day.
