Fellow beach people … we are only $200 away from raising $2,000 this weekend!

Yesterday, at the Wacky Stage for the Street Dance Concert with an amazing band The Blues Remedy, you all bought the Hawaiian Banana Bread so quickly! As well as the other desserts!

Today. It’s the last big event for Kelper’s weekend … and that would be the Kelper’s Parade!!

It starts at 12noon today in 💙 Moclips 💙 and then slowly makes it way back to downtown 💖 Pacific Beach💖

Gloria, Dani, Maribell and Felicity will be selling the final batch of pulled pork and chicken rice bowls! They are already cooking this morning!

And a few more desserts, sodas and waters …

WE can do this!! $200+ would be so amazing!! Grab a bite to eat or just slip some loving dollars into the jar.

The grassroots team on the ground in Lahaina will be so grateful ❤️🌺❤️🌺

Cash only today please. The Wi-Fi signal was t working well for cards. The gas station does have an ATM tho!

If you would like to make a donation directly, please visit www.MauiNuiStrong.info.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your open hearts and generosity.

For now, Fletcher and I are firing up the truck n trailer aka float to get in line for the parade! Our Joe Creek Condos is teaming up with KXPB 89.1 FM local radio station!

Your ultimate resource for Maui County, including Maui, Moloka‘i, and Lana‘i. Originally an online COVID-19 resource, it has evolved into an economic development program connecting residents, businesses, and visitors to valuable information, resources, and opportunities.

The morning after. We should feel exhausted after a few crazy busy days in a row … however, our hearts are so full, we can only smile and get teary.

The 60+ people who attended last evening were amazing! We may be small towns but we are STRONG towns with lots of love to give!

YOU generously donated over $1400!! We sat with Bill and Gloria to count the cash … they literally had tears in their eyes.

They talked about the grassroots group on the ground in Lahaina who are reaching out to those who have not received any assistance yet.

The website is www.MauiNuiStrong.info. Please go to their website and donate if you can ❤️

HUGE thanks to Mr Wacky, the Wacky Warehouse aka Pacific Beach Food Bank AND the small but mighty KXPB 89.1 FM radio for making this event happen!!

Several of the DJs were also in attendance: Uncle Thom and Aunt Kandi, Handlebar Mike and Rusty & Red. A quick reminder that you are welcome to visit the radio station … it is inside of Wacky’s and to the right.

On a day when Murphy’s Law applied … the rotisserie broke 20 minutes into the spin. Fletcher, Frank and Nate shifted gears and butchered the pig! Fortunately with 8 condos and very sweet, understanding and flexible guests, AND one of our staff Karen … the pig was divided into roasting pans and the cooking began!

We received so many compliments on the food … thank you all so much!

WE AREN’T DONE YET!!

We will continue to make desserts and Musubi throughout the weekend with a pop up booth at the concert/street dance tonight (5pm-8pm) at the Wacky Stage and Sunday around 12noon, same place, for the Kelpers Parade!

We will also have donated items for sale. I will do my best to post photos when we are set up!

Also, we will have popcorn, sodas and water for sale.

I think we can hit the $2000 mark by the end of the weekend!!

Money. Let's talk about this important aspect of the Luau.

Sadly, there are so many scammers these days, we must be very vigilant with our actions and dollars.

I encourage you to visit their pages, Bill & Gloria Nahalea. Bill has been authorized to use the www.MauiNuiStrong.info website. Both Bill and Gloria are very well known and respected. They are participating in numerous fundraising projects offering their voices and music, sometimes doing 2-3 projects per day.

There will be several ways to donate; please choose the method you are most comfortable with using. Cash, check, card, Venmo. We are setting up separate Venmo and Square accounts for the event. We will provide receipts to anyone who requests one.

We will also provide the name of the Lahaina group for direct donations. We can send a group of checks by mail or If you send one directly to them, we would love to know so we can add it to our "North Coast" total.

If you sponsor or donate to the event, we will mention you or your business, unless you prefer to be anonymous.

You can sponsor part of the event; the pig, for instance, was just shy of $300 if you would like to sponsor the pig! We ordered a large heavy duty rotisserie (at our personal expense)so people can swing by to see the pig spinning. Yes, there will be an apple in the mouth 🐷🍎

We have side dishes to prepare if you want to donate some ingredients. We could use a few cases of water, soda. We plan to have iced tea, lemonade, etc.

We need desserts for the bake sale. Tables and chairs so we don't have to rent from the fire department. Plasticware. Paper or plastic cups.

I will update again with the full menu and more details about events.

This is a fluid event, and with Bill & Gloria so busy, sometimes it takes just a little while for me to get answers to your questions.

I am also looking for a fun see through type container for kids to donate change to help the children in Lahaina who lost their clothes, toys, etc. I think it is important for children to learn young that they can help also. If anyone has a cute plastic or glass type of jar, I would love to borrow it. I have a large glass canister jar ... but it is kinda boring. 😊

I also have flyers if people would like to pick up 10-20 to pass out in Seabrook, Shores, Taholah, etc.

Thank you for your interest and patience.

Let's plan to send some love from our beach to their beach 🥰

WELCOME!! ALOHA!!

Thank you for visiting our page. I will continue to update this weekend ... just wanted to get this up and running!

One week from today, on Friday September 1st, we will be hosting a Luau for Maui Fundraiser. Proceeds will go directly to the people of Lahaina via Bill and Gloria Nahalea. They are long time residents of Hawaii and Maui, and have many friends and family still living in the islands.

Bill and Gloria are the Founders and Executive Directors of the Kalama Heritage Festival, an event held successfully since 2005. Their goal was to further awareness of the history of Hawaiian and Native Tribes in this area.

Bill is recovering from a stroke but he is MAUI STRONG!

You can find both of them on Facebook.

The short info:
This event is being sponsored by Joe Creek Condos, the Debely's and KXPB Radio 89.1 of Pacific Beach.

The Luau will be held at the Wacky Main Street Stage, next to the Wacky Warehouse on Friday, September 1st, starting at 5pm.

There will be lots of food, music, Hula demonstrations and lessons, a dance contest, raffles, bake sale and items for purchase. Oh! and lots of FUN!!

More to follow ... Please share this page with your family and friends! We hope to show Lahaina that our little beach town cares about their beach town ❤️🌸🌺💐🌴🍍

A little hint ... there will be a 90 # whole pig cooking on a rotisserie. A little something called Spam Musubi. And of course, Butter Mochi for dessert!

You don't want to miss this!! Please ask how you can help, in person or from a distance. Mahola! 😍
