Ten Unknown Facts About
Enzo Ferrari: The legendary car manufacturer was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939 as Auto Avio Costruzioni. The first Ferrari car, the 125 S, was built in 1947.
Prancing Horse: The iconic Ferrari logo of a prancing horse was adopted from Count Francesco Baracca, an Italian World War I ace. Baracca's mother suggested Enzo use the horse on his cars for good luck.
Limited Production: Ferrari limits the number of cars it produces each year to maintain exclusivity and high demand. This strategy has made Ferrari one of the most coveted and prestigious automotive brands in the world.
F1 Dominance: Ferrari has a rich history in Formula One racing, being the most successful team in the sport's history. The team has won numerous championships and is synonymous with speed and performance.
Customization: Ferrari offers an extensive customization program called "Tailor-Made," allowing customers to personalize every detail of their car, from paint colors to interior materials.
LaFerrari: LaFerrari is the first mild-hybrid supercar produced by Ferrari, combining a V12 engine with an electric motor for increased performance and efficiency. It is part of Ferrari's push towards more sustainable technology.
Ownership: Ferrari was once a division of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles but became a separate entity in 2016. The company is now listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RACE.
Testarossa Name: The iconic Testarossa model, known for its distinctive side strakes, translates to "redhead" in Italian, referring to the red cam covers on its flat-12 engine.
Pop Culture: Ferrari has been featured in numerous films, TV shows, and songs, becoming a symbol of luxury and speed in popular culture. The Ferrari brand is often associated with wealth, power, and success.
Legacy: Ferrari's legacy extends beyond cars, with the brand licensing its name to products like clothing, accessories, and theme parks. The Ferrari brand represents a lifestyle of luxury and performance that transcends the automotive industry.

How do you support deep thinking for your students? K Collier says, “One helpful strategy is providing students a visual that matches with question type and depth.” Dig into her anchor chart... with a clever spring time twist. 🌷

🌸 Surface level questions are quick to answer (think multiple choice or fill in the blank) and can be supported with easy to find text evidence.

🌸 Deep level questions are more complex (think constructed response) and require students to process the text through inferencing, analyzing, and critical thinking.

This week a teacher came to my room to pick up her kids. She came late and told the kids to hurry out of my classroom, a couple of students told her that they were cleaning. She turned around and told them: “Let’s go, Art is not important!” I was shot. 💔 Art is important to children because it fosters creativity, self-expression, and emotional development. Through art, children can explore their imagination and communicate ideas or feelings that may be difficult to express in words. It also enhances problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as they experiment with different techniques and materials. Additionally, art helps develop fine motor skills, boosts confidence, and encourages cultural awareness by exposing children to diverse forms of expression and perspectives. Engaging in art can also be a calming activity, promoting mindfulness and emotional well-being.

Observational drawing teaches children how to closely observe and analyze the world around them. It helps develop their attention to detail, improve hand-eye coordination, enhance concentration, and strengthen their understanding of shapes, proportions, and spatial relationships. By practicing observational drawing, children also learn how to translate what they see into two-dimensional forms, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills.
