Midwest Hellenic Dance Festival
The Midwest Hellenic Dance Festival is dedicated to promoting, preserving and perpetuating the traditional Greek dances and music of our Hellenic Heritage by inspiring our Greek Orthodox youth and young adults through dance, music, and fellowship. The Festival will be an annual event designed to develop an awareness, appreciation and love for our Hellenic culture and create a greater communion and stronger ties with fellow Greek Orthodox Christians for generations to come.
The Annual Midwest Hellenic Dance Festival, is an annual event taking place each Columbus Day Weekend. It is the newest ministry of the Metropolis of Chicago and enjoyed much success during its inaugural year of 2016.
Our October event consists of dance workshops on Friday evening and Saturday, led by expert instructors covering various areas of Greece. It culminates with a Saturday night “Paradosiako Glendi”, featuring Live Entertainment, ending with a Sunday “Farewell Luncheon” showcasing dance troupes from various parts of the Midwest and the Chicago Metropolis and live entertainment.
