About Me/ My Story:
Richie Gil’s pursuit of excellence in any endeavor he sets to do is rooted from the values a
nd inspiration his parents instilled in him at a young age. He was born to Sofronio and Gildegarda Lamera Gil, both educators, from the town of Dueñas, Iloilo, Philippines. In his youth, he was part of the crop of young achievers whose ideals bridges scholastic and socio-civic responsibilities. He excelled not only academically but garnered multiple local and national recognition as a Student Leader, Campus Journalist, Cultural Dance Performer, Debater and Public Speaker. He graduated Bachelors of Science in Nursing class of 1991 from West Visayas State University, where he received The Excellence in Leadership Award. He found himself often in-tasked of organizing and hosting parties for his friends in the early days of their young home-sick life here in America. While his career as a Certified Critical-Care Registered Nurse flourishes, his once hobby of entertaining his friends bloomed from being a passion into a business. Encouraged by friends, he founded Funky Dragon Productions in 2002 with a humble vision to provide event/party planning, consultation, hosting and DJ service to Filipino-American families in Chicagoland. The Party Master, as he is now known, have been a part of various events such as baptisms, birthdays, debut, weddings, holiday parties, reunions, and organizations/corporate events to name a few. His service now expands to all communities not only in Chicagoland but to the entire Midwest and the Philippines. Known to be a vibrant, interactive, no-dull-moment host emcee and entertainer, The Party Master excels in crafting memorable fun and emotional moments during his events that are meant to be treasured by his clients and their guests. As a DJ, his skill goes beyond mixing good music to mastering the art of crowd-reading and understanding the different age, gender and cultural demographics and their music preferences. A natural-born dancer, he choreographs wide variety of original dance routines from oldies to hip-hop. He strives to simplify these dance moves that he introduces during parties for the crowd to follow. He has received endless words of gratitude from his satisfied clients and their guests reason why his business success has been noted to grow mainly thru the simple yet effective word of mouth advertising.
