Just moments after taking the knee, I led this couple around the Los Angeles Arboretum to take some celebration photos. It was a classic move on his part. He told his fiancé that a friend of theirs was going to get married there so that gave them a reason to dress up. He had a back that looked like it had presents in it. That hid the ring. The spectrum of weddings since Covid have been all@over the place. From intimate weddings that include the photographer and the couple ans and an officiant to 300 guests strong and 16 in the wedding party. Others have kept the wedding day very private and then celebrate their photos a few days later. Everything is acceptable. It’s your wedding day, do as you please.

Imagine that you lost your wedding day photos. Imagine you had never actually saved them.

Yep let that sink in…. Do you have your wedding backed up in more than one place?

Well a few days ago one of my couples from 2015 messaged me asking if I still had them. Well it was a good luck bad luck thing…. I still had some low res files that I used to make for couples so they could easily post on social media. But they would never be able to be printed.

But luckily I still had the RAW files. Yes all of them. Now I’ve never told any clients that I’d keep their files that long. In fact I never say it will be available after 1-2 years. But I’m glad that I was able to redo their editing for them and give them a fresh look.

Coupes- always back up your wedding photos. USB thumb drives are a great way to transfer files but I’d never trust them over a long period of time. DVD is completely obsolete and extremely restrictive based on current file sizes from current cameras.

Imagine having 450 images captured at your wedding…. In only 3 hours. That’s how fun this couple was on their wedding day. Great friends and family too! And to top it that’s how many I provided edited out of 2700 captured for this event.
