My interest began in 1995 and my first actual event was in 1996. The technique of “Beat-Mixing” is what drew me, most, to wanting to learn about becoming a DJ. I can remember listening to “Non-Stop” Mix Tapes and CDs such as: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Party_to_Go_7 and https://www.discogs.com/Various-Dance-Mix-USA-Vol-4/release/1600957 and thinking (to myself) how do they make the songs, sound like that, where you can hear the beat of the next song over-lapping the song that is still playing? At the time, little did I know there was a skill set involved in being able to do that, myself. Whatever that skill set was, I was going to learn how to do it.
