We will be closed this Sunday, March 5th to honor and remember our dear friend Robert Patterson.

He generously supported our community, always took time to laugh with friends, and loved his family fiercely. We are blessed to have known him and hold on to those good memories. Our love goes out to the Patterson family ❤️

If you have been to The Crate lately you would have noticed the lobster trap Christmas tree is up! 🎄🦞

This is our sign that we have wrapped up this year’s lobster season. Today was our last day selling live lobster/offering lobster dinners (we will still have the rest of our menu items that feature lobster).

However, starting Wednesday we will have fresh scallops!

We will be selling by the pound or gallon. To be placed on our list please reach out to us 853-4822 or 853-4768. We will also take orders via Facebook messenger, but it will not be monitored as frequently and orders will no be considered confirmed until there is a response from “The Crate”. We don’t have prices yet, but will post here when we do.

We’ve been a little quiet here on Facebook but want to pop in and say THANK YOU!

“Thank you” for what has been a very busy Summer and “Thank you” to all who came and enjoyed some MAINE LOBSTER this weekend! 🦞

As some of you know The Lobster Crate is a family-owned business, including four generations of Maine lobster fishing families. It’s a family heritage we are proud to be a part of.

Maine lobstermen and lobsterwomen support responsible fishing and protection of all of our natural resources. We have complied with new fishing regulations over recent years including using breakaways in the lines, utilization of ground lines with sink rope to replace float rope, marking of end lines, and increasing the number of traps on a line in order to reduce the overall amount of rope in the water. We have complied with these new regulations even though there has NEVER been a documented whale entanglement in Maine fishing gear.

There are certain groups who are promoting a boycott of purchasing Maine lobster to show support of protecting the right whale. And now certain state waters (and it’s being proposed all federal waters) be closed to all lobster fishing. This is devastating to the livelihood of local fishermen in our state who are already faced with huge increases in fuel and bait prices this season. It is also hurting Maine’s overall economy, which represented $725 million in 2021.

Please continue to support the Maine lobster fishery by purchasing lobster at your local grocery stores and favorite restaurants! You can be confident in knowing that we also support the protection of our natural marine resources and will continue to fish responsibly 🌊🦞
