I am a small, independent home baker whose basic ingredient for everything coming out of my kitchen is LOVE! I love to cook for a crowd because the dividends of a job well done really pushes my "love button", which makes me work harder on each and every job. I love watching the faces and hearing the comments of my clients almost to the point of addiction. In my book, there is nothing better than

giving and getting love from the heart, and for me it solidifies my philosophy: "The way to get to a person's heart is through their stomach" I utilize all of the recipes and cooking skills that I learned from my grandmother and my mom, as well as being self-taught on so many levels, learning as much as I can as I move along. I honed my craft by teaching high school culinary arts for 17 years. Now that I am retired, this new venture keeps me active & happy because I get to experiment with all sorts of new, delicious recipes. Everything I do is custom made to make each event special in every way possible. Because I am the sole employee, it is vital that you book your event well in advance because I will never double book myself for any reason. Quality is paramount to my success, so I will work hard to ensure that everything is produced with the highest standards possible.

Tomorrow (06/20) is the date of Odawa Casinos 17th Anniversary. I was contracted to make hundreds of sugar cookies to celebrate the day. Apparently the staff will be doling them out to guests throughout the day, but if the Christmas order is any indication, they most likely will be gone sooner than later!

It’s so wonderful when I get called to provide special treats for the younger clients that I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. 💕💕 Yesterday marked the one year anniversary for Nick & Kylie Ralph, for whom I made up desserts at their wedding. They had a red velvet cake a year ago, & they wanted the same for their one year anniversary. When doing anniversary cakes for anyone, I try to incorporate their actual wedding cake somehow. They were tickled with the results. Thanks to Nick’s mom, MaryAnn Ralph, for trusting me once again.

Just delivered a very special gift to Tawni Kibbe, just because she is such a sweetie. Along with these custom cookies, I made the following drop cookies for her to stash when her sweet tooth pregnancy cravings kick in: Banana Nut, Red Velvet, Carrot, Chocolate Orange & Cherry.

Just returned from a wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix. Sending sincerest happy wishes to Jeremy & Ashley Mann for a long & wonderful adventure together.💕💕 This was my kind of wedding where the cake was the featured attraction. It’s an almond sour cream cake with an almond paste buttercream filling, covered in a champagne buttercream. Ashley & Jeremy wanted to honor others in attendance who have May anniversaries, so I made eight heart shaped lemon blueberry cakes to celebrate their own special days. I also made Funfetti cake pops with a little love note from Ashley & Jeremy as favors. The colors of the day were varying shades of mauve, gold & navy.

These are making the trip downstate to my besties, Bob & Jani, who will ring in summer with their neighbors this Saturday. They know they are coming but they don't really know what the designs are, & since neither one are on Facebook, I get to share them with the rest of you first. The only request I got was to incorporate Bob's cowboy hat someway. Another special event for me today, but in Hatbor Springs to celebrate a book launch for author Constance McMurray. The event is being held this evening at a lovely studio called 119 Studio, located in downtown Harbor Springs. These are custom cookies with her book's jacket cover made from edible images sitting on top of a sugar cookie. I also supplied mini lemon brownie blossoms as a side treat. It's a spectacular day in Petoskey for a bridal shower at the Perry Davis Hotel in honor of Alexis Peacock. Her lovely aunt, Kathy Cowles, hired me to make some surprise sugar cookies with the theme of Love. I used a rolled buttercream instead of Royal icing as an experiment which worked out fabulously well. It's a fantastic alternative to yucky fondant. Best wishes to Alexis on her upcoming nuptials! 💕💕

I wish I could bottle the smell in the house from the cake that just went out for Jacob's birthday because it's intoxicating! Thanks to his mom, Laura Bath, who always requests a different flavor combination for their family celebrations. This is actually an upgraded version of her original "Laura cake" which is a chocolate covered banana cake. This time it's banana cake with fresh banana cream filling & a decadent chocolate frosting topped with an even more decadent chocolate ganache drip. Happy birthday, Jacob!

It's an absolutely gorgeous 72° day here in Petoskey, perfect for a wedding! Huge congratulations going out to Emily & Justin Kazanowski who tied the knot at Gypsy Distillery. 💕💕 This was a new, VERY IMPRESSIVE venue for me & it's so wonderful that we live so close!

On the dessert table today we had strawberry cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate/orange cheesecake, lemon brownies & caramel wrapped/chocolate dipped pretzel rods.

Heading downstate to Mother Cloyd for her 95th birthday celebration on April 27 & Mother's Day 2024. Wish we could be there to celebrate with her at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, to watch her thoroughly enjoy her one pound of crab legs that she "will eat all of, as long as it takes." Gotta LOVE Mother Cloyd as she is the BEST mother-in-law a girl could ever ask for! Wishing her MUCH love and continued spunkiness as she travels to her desired age of 100!

These went out today for a special Celebration of Life gathering. My twisted turtles in a phyllo cup consisting of toasted pecans blanketed in caramel & topped with whipped buttery chocolate ganache. It's an interesting little morsel with some fantastic crunch factors. The other treat is a black cherry cheesecake.

Sometimes many people don't understand the time & creative energy that actually goes into custom cookie orders. When doing very large cookie orders, sometimes the process can be quite long & arduous, like making Royal Icing transfers to transfer to flooded cookies for a tighter/cleaner look. These are ultimately very fragile, so patience is golden when it comes to repairing or redoing many of them completely. At least I got stocked up on butter & the new big chest freezer is coming tomorrow!! 😃😃

Another one of my brides from last year is going to be a mother this May. Huge congratulations to Morgan & Scott Kibbe on becoming parents to little Matthew very soon!💕💕
I was very happy when Morgan called on me to provide desserts for her baby shower today at the Petoskey Snowmobile Club. The dessert menu included blueberry cheesecake shots, a variety of mini cupcakes including lemon, cinnamon chip, Oreo, Vanilla w/raspberry & chocolate w/strawberry. I also made decorated sugar cookies to match her lumberjack theme. The rustic display stand was made by the very talented Kibbe Brothers. Yes, I imagine it weighs a ton, but it sure is fabulous!

His favorite flavors are coconut and lemon, so I made a coconut cake with a lemon curd filling and a white chocolate whipped ganache for the outside so I could use his favorite colors of orange and black. Thanks to his mom, Eryana Paquet, for coming back for this special young man's surprise birthday party today. I certainly hope that Luke was surprised at his party and that he loved this cake as much as he did last years'!

The magic of hot cocoa bombs…I finally get to sit down & just relax! After making hundreds of hot cocoa bombs, in 7 different custom cocoa blends, & close to a 1,000 cookies & chocolates, I’m sitting down with my favorite: salted caramel chocolate. Thanks a million to my pals, Becky & Rick Cope for giving me the perfect “Bee Kind” mug to use! (Yeah, I’m a terrible videographer, but I was excited!) Being nice to people is the EASIEST thing to do, so just be kind, if for no other reason than to let them wonder what you’re up to! 😉❤️😉❤️ Happy Holidays, Everyone!!
